Isaac Walker was one of seven brothers that were Middlesex in the county's formative years as a player and administrator. As a batsman he stood with his legs wide apart and was strong of the off side with a trademark hit in the air over cover's head. His bowling was underarm although he was underused, particular when he himself led the side. After retiring he devoted himself to coaching at his old school. In 1870 he founded the Harrow Wanderers who he played for regularly.
