A right-handed opening batsman and occasional right-arm medium-paced bowler who later switched to offspin, Emma Lamb hails from Preston, Lancashire and came up through Lancashire's age-group system, averaging over 100 in her final year at U17.

She made her senior debut in the Women's County Championship in 2012 against Warwickshire, and the following year scored her maiden County Championship century in 2013, carrying her bat for 113 not out as Lancashire posted 320 to thrash Durham by 161 runs.

In 2014, when she was just 16, she followed her older brother - Danny Lamb - into Lancashire's men's Academy program - only the second women to do so, after England's Kate Cross.

England Academy selection followed, and she turned heads with her performances in the 2016 tri-series with Sri Lanka A and Australia's Shooting Stars in Sri Lanka, with some memorable innings, including 85 off 80 balls in a One Day match versus Sri Lanka A and 45 off 29 balls in a T20 against the Shooting Stars.

She continues to play alongside her brother for Bramhall in Cheshire Premier League. Syd Egan
