Lieut. Colonel William Corrie Tonge, DSO, died on May 2 after a long illness, aged 81. A very good batsman, he captained Cheltenham College in his third season, 1880, in the XI, and was tried for Gloucestershire while still at school. Two years afterwards he played for Sandhurst, and from 1895 he appeared for Norfolk, being an officer in the county regiment.
