7.1 to TWM Latham, and it looks like the change in ends worked for Lakmal as he has managed to entice Latham into playing at a back of a length ball which darts in from outside off. Almost looked to be fishing for that edge as the ball deviated off the bat to the keeper. Having a look at the front foot no ball, and it is close, but he is in by a whisker I think. Yep, it has been given out and Latham trudges back towards the pavilion. Good result for Sri Lanka early on here in Wellington. 31/1
33.6 to BB McCullum, and would you believe it? McCullum has gone for none! 302 the last time around in Wellington, and this time a duck. Fuller one from Lakmal and McCullum was really in no position to try and cut this away off the back foot, with the ball far too close to the body, as this ends up being chopped on to the stumps. Committed the same sin as Taylor just an over earlier as the ball proves quicker than he anticipated. 142/4
49.6 to MD Craig, and Craig's short vigil has ended with an ill-advised shot to this shorter one going across him. He was looking to pull this high over midwicket, but instead succeeds at finding the Sri Lankan captain at mid on, who takes an easy chance. 194/8
1606343.93665021
16.6 to HD Rutherford, and Rutherford's rather spirited innings comes to an end as he offers an edge to Prasanna, who has been flawless so far. This one seemed to get a bit higher on Rutherford, with the ball catching the outside edge. Guilty of no foot movement there. 62/2
32.5 to LRPL Taylor, and Pradeep has got 'im! Taylor's nine lives have run out as Pradeep, delivering one closer to the body and nipping back off a back of a length, gets Taylor to chop one on to his stumps. Taylor hustles back to the pavilion with a well compiled 35. Decisive strike for Sri Lanka who looked to letting the game drift a touch. 141/3
38.4 to JDS Neesham, and Sri Lanka strike again as Pradeep picks up a third. Neesham ends up playing at this back of a length ball which shapes away from him, with the ball catching the outside edge as he feathers a chance to Prasanna, who snaps it up gleefully. He really has been the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers today, and New Zealand are suddenly five down. 162/5
50.3 to TG Southee, Pradeep has his fourth as New Zealand are now nine down. First ball Southee faces and he ends up feathering a simple edge to Sangakkara at first slip, who is not going to drop such a sitter. Not sure what Southee was thinking there as he looked to clear his front foot. Perhaps he was looking to hit out for some quick runs. Doesn't really matter now though.... 195/9
11.115024.47489011
44.5 to KS Williamson, first it was Ross, then it was Baz, now it is Kane's turn. Fuller ball which is closer to the body, and Williamson ends up chopping it on with an ill advised stroke. Big wicket for Sri Lanka, as they are now fully into the tail. 182/7
55.1 to DAJ Bracewell, and Prasad does the deed his captain wanted, ending the inings with a lovely, full delivery which Bracewell plays all around of as New Zealand are scuppered for 221 in their first innings. 221/10
932913.22425000
43.6 to BJ Watling, and it is suddenly six down for New Zealand! Not the greatest delivery from Mathews, pretty much just short and wide. Watling, in hopes of looking for an uppercut over the slips, instead manages to give an outside edge which is snapped up by the slip. This is slowly turning into Sri Lanka's day as Williamson watches from the other end as another partner trudges to the pavilion. 181/6

8.1 to FDM Karunaratne, and Boult has found that perfect line, enticing Dimuth to go after a back of a length delivery, bowled on and around a fourth stump line, as Dimuth ends up feathering an outside edge to Neesham in the slips, who takes it comfortably. First wicket down for New Zealand, and Sri Lanka suddenly have some questions to answer. 18/1
85.6 to HMRKB Herath, full and going down leg as Boult offers an appeal, with the bowler and keeper wanting a second look as they go for an appeal for a catch down the leg side. They have decided to review it. No problem with the no-ball, there does look like a little spot on HotSpot, so there could have been a nick there. There is very little activity on Snicko though.. A decision has been made, and it is deemed out by the third umpire.. 289/8
2638713.3411811100
20.3 to AD Mathews, back of a length outside off and New Zealand have picked up a big wicket here as Mathews is caught at the crease, with the ball catching the outside edge as he was squared up. This one darted in from outside off before shaping away at the last possible moment, drawing the shot from Mathews. Sri Lanka in all sorts of trouble now at 58 for 4.... 58/4
2429333.87989033
11.3 to JK Silva, make that four now. Bracewell has now got a Sri Lankan to chop one on as Silva's vigil comes to an acrimonious end. Silva defended this back of a length ball with soft hands, with the ball bouncing behind before landing right on top of the bails and middle stump, which lead to his demise. 25/2
13.2 to HDRL Thirimanne, and Thirimanne is gone! One of the softest dismissals you will see as he pushes at a back of a length ball which just spoons directly to McCullum, who is stationed at mid off. New Zealand will be amped with the dismissal, and will look to continue the good work. 29/3
25.4 to HAPW Jayawardene, and Prasanna is unable to survive till the end of day, snicking an edge from one which shapes away off a back of a length to Neesham at slip, who will not drop that one in a hurry. 78/5
1104233.81496010
69.6 to LD Chandimal, fuller one outside off as Chandimal's good work has come undone with a beauty from Neesham, who has him drawn into the drive, with the resulting outside edge going safely into the gloves of Watling. Breaks the partnership which threatened to drift the game from the hosts. Excellent innings from the young turk under pressure, and in foreign conditions. Ends a 130-run partnership for Sri Lanka. Could this be the turning point in the innings?. 208/6
77.5 to KTGD Prasad, and Prasad's short stay comes to an end as Neesham picks up the second wicket of the day, with Prasad drawn into playing because of the angle, but ultimately feathering an edge to Watling, who has been flawless behind the stumps. 242/7
101.6 to KC Sangakkara, Boult has just taken a stunner. And should you be surprised? Ends what has been a truly fantastic innings from Sangakkara, who is accepting all the congratulations from the on-field players. This is definitely an early candidate for best catch of 2015 as Boult leapt high to his left to pluck this in mid-air at backward point, before crashing to the ground. 356/9
17.135513.20723100
102.1 to RAS Lakmal, and it is all over with Lakmal, looking for quick runs, deciding to throw caution to the wind as he dances down and misses the line of this ball entirely as Watling, who fumbles the take initially, ends up picking up the ball and dislodging the stump from its base. 356/10

26.4 to HD Rutherford, looks like the ploy has worked as Pradeep has got Rutherford to attack this short line outside off and coming in, playing an ill-advised ramp which sails all the way into the waiting hands of third man, who was stationed there just a few balls before by Mathews. Ends a valiant effort from Rutherford, who was really grafting at some stages as he looked to build. 75/1
28.5 to TWM Latham, and Sri Lanka strike again! It is Latham's time to go as he has a half-hearted push at a short of a length ball going across him, with the ball catching the outside edge and giving Prasanna a straightforward chance to take, which he duly obliges. Both openers in the shed now, and Sri Lanka will be feeling more hopeful now after slogging through the first hour. 78/2
60.3 to JDS Neesham, fuller length delivery on the pads and angling in with the angle as Pradeep has a shout for, leg before as the ball strikes the pads but Mathews, while they were deliberating on whether to go for the review, decides to go for it. Given not out initially, let us see if this turns out for the better for Sri Lanka? Predicted path shows this one to go on to hit the stumps so New Zealand are now five down as Neesham is given his marching orders. 159/5
56815412.752358100
31.3 to LRPL Taylor, and Herath proves just how world-class he is with a peach of a delivery, landing on and around off and then turning in as Taylor makes the fatal mistake of misreading the line. Ends up getting castled comprehensively as a consequence. Herath you beauty. 79/3
28110213.641079011
46.3 to BB McCullum, strikes him on the pads just above the knee roll as this one shapes in upon pitching from off, with McCullum late on it. Looked quite guilty from the start, and he is given out by the umpire. However, Brendon doesn't think so, so he has asked for the review. Turns out he was not correct though as the predicted path shows this would have indeed gone on to hit the stumps. Big blow for New Zealand as these two looked to build some kind of stability. Sri Lanka will feel slightly better having removed a decisive batsman. 122/4

18.4 to KTGD Prasad, and the nightwatchman leaves without much impact as he chases after a shortish length outside his off stump, getting a thick outside edge which flies high to second slip, who takes a wonderful catch high to his left to snag the wicket. That was Neesham who took the catch. Excellent start for the hosts this morning as Sri Lanka are now two down. 51/2
24.6 to KC Sangakkara, has a waft at this short and wide delivery outside his off stump, with the left-hander late on it. They have decided to go for the review as Brendon McCullum audibly says "It is worth it." No ball is fine. Doesn't appear to be any contact with the bat as we look at the replay. There is a slight noise but let's see if anything shows up on HotSpot. Nothing discerning on the footage though, but Snicko has something else to say. It looks like there may be something after all in it as there is a disturbance shown. Gee I wouldn't want to be the third umpire at the moment. This can be a pivotal moment in the match considering who is on trial. And would you believe it, it has been overturned. Sangakkara is out. He trudges off with a few parting words as he looks quite upset with the eventual decision handed down. Looks like Boult has won this particular exchange with Sangakkara. 61/3
17.464112.32876000
72.4 to N Pradeep, full and right on middle as Southee does the job his captain wanted. Pradeep plays all around this one as his stumps are left splayed on the ground. Too good for the tailender. 196/10
1332521.92662021
40.2 to JK Silva, and New Zealand have managed to prise out a big wicket here as Silva feathers an edge from this back of a length outside off from Bracewell through to Craig, who is stationed at second slip, and is able to take a low catch to his left. 94/4
42.3 to AD Mathews, and what a way to enter the lunch break as Bracewell picks up another huge breakthrough, this time getting Mathews to snick at a back of a length wide of his off stump as Kane Williamson, at gully, is able to leap high to his left, bobbling the first attempt, before catching it on the second take as he landed on the ground. This has to be one of the all-time best gully catches and definitely another early contender for Catch of the Year. 110/5
1885342.94869000
13.2 to FDM Karunaratne, and it went down to maybe the final 10-12 minutes of the day before a wicket finally fell as this flighted delivery from Craig entices Dimuth to have a go at it, spooning a straightforward chance to Rutherford at mid off, who completes the take. 42/1
55.4 to HAPW Jayawardene, and Prasanna undoes all his good work with a loose slap outside his off stump which finds the cover fielder, who is able to take it cleanly. And it is that man Williamson again who ends up taking the catch. 133/6
61.3 to LD Chandimal, and the change in the field has worked as Craig has managed to induce a fine outside edge to this one pitched just about off as Watling is able to take this cleanly from behind to make Sri Lanka seven down. 156/7
61.4 to HMRKB Herath, and he has got 'im first ball! This was as plumb as he is struck on the pads, with this one looking out. Front foot is okay. Herath goes down the track to have a word with Thirimanne before deciding to go for the review, and why not? No inside-edge as per the replays, and it looks like this one is definitely going on to hit leg stump. This decision should stand as it is an on-field call. Herath is sent back as soon as he arrived, and New Zealand are just two away from wrapping up a series whitewash. 156/8
