Javed Sheikh was playing in an over 50 floodflit match for Ideal Veterans against CDC Veterans at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium in Karachi. He bowled two overs of right-arm medium and complained of discomfort in his left arm. During the third over he bowled couple of wide deliveries and withdrew to the pavilion. On his way to a hospital he died of cardiac arrest.
