Henry Kingscote was am exceptionally tall right-hand batsman who was MCC president in 1827 whose wealth as a trader enabled him to devote much time to cricket and hunting. He served on the MCC committee for many years and was for a time the club's president. When in middle age he almost drowned, and thereafter he spent much time on altruistic and religious projects.
