David Hussey, the Victoria batsman, has been given the go-ahead by Nottinghamshire to take part in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League after negotiating a new deal with the county.
Hussey, who was signed up by the IPL's Kolkata franchise for US$625,000 per year, was already on a two-year contract with Nottinghamshire, and his participation in the IPL, which runs from April 18 to June 1, meant he would miss the first five County Championship matches and eight games in the Friends Provident Trophy.
The county has now cleared Hussey to participate. "It has all worked out well. I'll head straight to England after the India series," Hussey told the Herald Sun. "I'm very happy it has all been sorted out amicably. I look forward to getting back to England after the India series."
