Dugout access
Following the tradition of handing out purple and orange caps to the players, now team owners have a colour of their own. A day after Shah Rukh Khan, the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, was denied access to his team's dugout, the IPL authorities have announced an all-area accreditation badge to one member of each of the eight franchisees. Lalit Modi, the IPL commissioner, said all team owners will be given a red badge by the ICC's Anti Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) which gives them access to the team dugout and dressing room as well.

Injury woes again for Asif
The Delhi Daredevils could be without the services of their strike bowler Mohammad Asif for the rest of the IPL season after he split the webbing on his right hand in a game against the Deccan Chargers. Doctors have said it could be a week before the stitches are removed, and his availability for the forthcoming tri-series against Bangladesh is also in doubt. He had just made a comeback in the home ODIs against Bangladesh after an elbow surgery. The Pakistan Cricket Board meanwhile does not regret allowing him to play in the IPL, despite his injury history. A senior official reasoned that the lighter workload of four overs per game, as opposed to the rigors of county cricket, would actually be good for him in terms of his comeback.

IPL trophy unveiled
The DLF IPL trophy was officially unveiled at the Cricket Center in Mumbai. Crafted by Orra, the trophy was unveiled by Modi, chief designer Mona Mehta and the BCCI's chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty.
