Indian Premier League, 6th match: Rajasthan Royals v Kings XI Punjab at Jaipur, Apr 21, 2008
Rajasthan Royals won by 6 wickets (with 11 balls remaining)
21 April 2008 - night match (20-over match)

Hi and welcome to the sixth game of the IPL. Shane Warne's Rajasthan Royals face up to Yuvraj Singh's Kings XI Punjab. Both teams lost their first game and Warne, in particular, must be feeling the heat as his team is yet to show it can stand up to the competition. ""Graeme Smith is joining next week. The Pakistanis - Younis Khan and Kamran Akmal - are joining. The Englishman, Dimitri Mascarenhas, is an exciting player, and he is also joining soon," Warne said. "So, I am pretty confident that we will give tougher competition to other teams in the tournament." Kamran Akmal will play today, he and Darren Lehmaan would have to step up. Taruwar Kohli and Mahesh Rawat, the 'keeper, are out and Pankaj Singh, the seamer, gets a look in.

There are some cracks out there and Ian Bishop reckons it would be a sporting track. "There is something for everyone."

Toss: Yuvraj won the toss and has chosen to bat. He has brought in Mahela Jayawardene in place of Simon Katich and Sunny Sohail is in for Pankaj Dharmani.

We discussed the reasons why you support a particular team. The language seems to be the main reason, followed by city of living and then, the squad with your favourite players. Outside India, they are following the teams with their nation's players.

Meanwhile, Greg Chappell picks the Kings XI as the favourite.

Sam:"A thought to ponder. In the match between Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings in Chennai, if Dinesh Karthick hits a cracking 50 to guide his team to victory, which side would the crowd support? Chennai or Dinesh Karthick ? Would the crowd cheer Dinesh instead of supporting a foreign bowler like Ntini bowling for Super Kings ? :-)"

Jeremy Hicks: "You speculate that people outside India have based their choice of IPL team on where their compatriots are playing; well that doesn't really work for us Brits, otherwise we would all be supporting the Royals as they have the only English player! For what it's worth, I'm supporting the Kings because I'm a Yorkshire fan, and once my son and his friends had chosen their teams the Kings were the only one remaining who had a past or present Yorkshire player (Yuvraj) in their squad."

Hi Jeremey, that was not a speculation. I had asked a similar question last night and got that from the feedbackers. Obviously, its from the sample there and won't be reflecting the universal opinion.
