Indian Premier League, 25th match: Royal Challengers Bangalore v Kings XI Punjab at Bangalore, May 5, 2008
Kings XI Punjab won by 6 wickets (with 10 balls remaining)
5 May 2008 - night match (20-over match)

7.58 pm local time: Virat Kohli is opening the innings, now that's a surprise but he did play well against Deccan chargers on Friday. He is opening with Jaffer. Aamer Sohail thinks that Bangalore are going to win. Sreesanth has the new ball for Punjab.

7.50 pm: We're about ten minutes away from the start. It's likely that Bangalore will open with Dravid and Jaffer, and if that is the case, it's about time they got a move on. Jaffer might have scored a couple of fifties but at no stage has he looked like a severe threat to the bowlers.

Toss, 7.30 pm: The pitch is expected to assist the spinners, to a certain extent at least. It's toss time, Yuvraj Singh and Rahul Dravid are on the field, each hoping to get lucky. (I'm George Binoy, your commentator for this match).

Yuvraj has won the toss and Punjab will bowl. They've made two changes, bringing in Ramnaresh Sarwan and Uday Kaul. Kumar Sangakkara is sitting this game out, I suspect he's not fully fit. Karan Goel also misses out.

Punjab: 1 Shaun Marsh, 2 James Hopes, 3 Uday Kaul (wk), 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Mahela Jayawardene, 6 Ramnaresh Sarwan, 7 Irfan Pathan, 8 Piyush Chawla, 9 Sreesanth, 10 VRV Singh, 11 Gagandeep Singh.

Bangalore have picked Cameron White and left out Mark Boucher. Devraj Patil has also been included, in place of Bharat Chipli, and he will keep wicket.

Bangalore: 1 Rahul Dravid (capt), 2 Wasim Jaffer, 3 Virat Kohli, 4 Jacques Kallis, 5 Misbah-ul-Haq, 6 Cameron White, 7 Devraj Patil (wk), 8 Praveen Kumar, 9 Zaheer Khan, 10 Anil Kumble, 11 Dale Steyn.

7.15 pm: Hello everybody and welcome to Cricinfo's coverage of the 25th match of the Indian Premier League and believe it or not, we're not even half way through. Today's game is between the third-placed Kings XI Punjab and Bangalore Royal Challengers, who are second last.

The points table has been shaken up over the last few days with Chennai Super Kings slipping to fourth place after consecutive defeats against Delhi and Rajasthan. Delhi also lost to Mumbai, which pushed Mumbai up from eighth to sixth.

Coming back to today's game, Punjab are the in-form team, having won their last four games. Bangalore, however, beat the Deccan Chargers at home on Friday.

Watch out for ... Kumar Sangakkara taking on Dale Steyn and Zaheer Khan. Sangakkara leads the run charts for Punjab with 203 in six games with two half-centuries. Steyn came back well after a pasting at the hands of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his first match to concede 20 runs in four overs. Zaheer is one of the leading wicket-takers in the tournament. Shaun Marsh would also be a tough nut to crack for Bangalore, like most Australians in this tournament. Read more in Cricinfo's preview of the match.

9.36 pm local time: Punjab have done splendidly to restrict Bangalore to 126. The conditions have something for the bowlers but this is a below par total. There were five ducks in the innings and only Dravid, who made 66, and Kohli got into double figures. I'll be back in about ten minutes for Punjab's run-chase.
