Indian Premier League - 32nd match

Deccan Chargers v Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders won by 23 runs

Vaas gets ready to bowl to Butt

Toss: Sourav Ganguly has won the toss and Kolkata Knight Riders will bat first. Ganguly said he was happy with the way they fielded in their previous game, which helped them defend the target against Bangalore. Might as well go with the flow. And here's another thing - all three games in this venue have been won by the team chasing. So this could well be a good toss to lose for Deccan. They're yet to win here and I suspect the home crowd's getting really impatient.

Teams: Chaminda Vaas returns to India after a break and replaces the out of form Shahid Afridi for Deccan. For Kolkata, Salman Butt replaces Brad Hodge. Vaas returned to Sri Lanka for the birth of his third child. Hodge has been called up to the Australian Test squad as a replacement for Michael Clarke. We wish him all the best.

Deccan Chargers: 1 Adam Gilchrist (capt & wk), 2 Herschelle Gibbs, 3 Scott Styris, 4 Rohit Sharma, 5 Venugopal Rao, 6 Ravi Teja, 7 Sanjay Bangar, 8 Chaminda Vaas, 9 RP Singh, 10 Pragyan Ojha, 11 DP Vijaykumar.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 1 Aakash Chopra, 2 Salman Butt, 3 Sourav Ganguly (capt), 4 David Hussey, 5 Tatenda Taibu, 6 Laxmi Ratan Shukla, 7 Wriddhiman Saha (wk), 8 Murali Kartik, 9 Umar Gul, 10 Ishant Sharma, 11 Ashok Dinda.

The pitch, thankfully, doesn't look the same as the one at the Eden Gardens last month when these sides last met. The ball kicked, turned, bounced, hit the knuckles and had both sides fuming. It could get slower as the evening progresses, but overall looks a good one to bat on.

Deccan will be looking for revenge after that game. Kolkata are at No.5 in the points table, only marginally ahead off Deccan who are languishing at No.7. This can be called the Contest of the Underachievers.

3.20 local time: It's match 32 (seems like 64) of the IPL and the action shifts to Hyderabad for the encounter between Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders. I'm Kanishkaa Balachandran, your commentator for the match. Raghav gives me company on scoring. I'll avoid all cliches and not call this a 'Super Sunday', as many like to call it. Soon after this finishes, we have Rajasthan Royals hosting Delhi Daredevils in Jaipur. Much fun.

Some of you in this part of the world may still be recovering from a Sunday brunch. So grab that post-lunch beer or whatever else that suits you and enjoy the game.

Enter the most Most Valuable Player contest. The only thing you have to do is guess the MVP for every match of the ongoing IPL and send it across to 58888 in the following format:

MVP < space > Name of the Player < space > Your Name, Location For e.g: MVP Virendra Sehwag Amit Gupta, Delhi

Money, from UAE: "There is another thing which isn't going down well with a lot of spectators. If the IPL was given a league format with home and away games, then what was the point of semi-finals and finals? The team winning the highest number of games throught the league still doesn't take it all. The organisers still haven't worked out the exact plans and i am sure we are gonna see a lot of changes in the format in the coming seasons."
