Indian Premier League - 10th match

Kolkata Knight Riders v Rajasthan Royals

Match tied (Rajasthan Royals won the one-over eliminator)

We're ready to start. Paul Valthaty will open. He bats right-handed. Ishant has the ball.

17.15: Play should get underway in another 5 minutes. Dinner time in India. Fill the plate and make yourselves comfortable.

Our newest addition, Page 2, is now available on Cricinfo's WAP site. Have fun with The CV, Daily Dose,Hear Hear, Wack Stat EyePL.

Sri asks: "Why is Pujara not in playing X1 for KKR?"

Well I heard he injured himself shortly before the tournament began. He slammed three triple hundreds last season, if I'm not wrong. I'm looking forward to seeing him as well. For some mysterious reason he was in the squad last year but never got a game and was hence released. Can't help but feel sorry for the guy.

17.00: It will continue to be a 20-over match despite the delayed start.

Kolkata Knight Riders: McCullum, Gayle, Hodge, Ganguly, Bangar, Yashpal singh, Laxmi Shukla, Mendis, Agarkar, Ishant Sharma, Anureet Singh

Rajasthan Royals: Smith, Mascarenhas, Yusuf Pathan, Jadeja, Valthaty, Quiney, Raut, Rawat, Warne, Munaf Patel, Kamran Khan

This is Ajantha Mendis' first game of IPL 2. As you can see, Kolkata have made quite a few changes. Aakash Chopra, Moises Henriques, Murali Kartik and Ashok Dinda go out. Sanjay Bangar, Mendis, Agarkar and Anureet Singh are the replacements.

For Rajasthan, Rob Quiney comes in for Tyron Henderson as the overseas player. Maharashtra's Abhishek Raut replaces Swapnil Asnodkar. Rajasthan have a knack of picking unknowns and the latest is Paul Valthaty, who's yet to play a first-class game! I'm guessing he's a batsman, and he comes in for Niraj Patel.

16.51: Warne and McCullum are ready for the toss. Both have their team sheets ready and there's some friendly banter between the two. McCullum has won the toss and Kolkata will bowl first. With rain in the air it's probably a sensible thing to do. We'll get you the teams shortly.

16.48 Some good news at last. The covers are coming off and we understand the toss will happen soon. Let's also hope this game isn't decided on Duckworth-Lewis.

16.40: Still raining, I'm afraid. But it's not pelting down.

Rajasthan must be tired of watching the rain because that was all they could do at Durban two days back when their game against Mumbai was washed out without a ball being bowled. They got a point but they're still searching for their first outright win.

Hello and welcome to Cricinfo's coverage of the 10th match of the IPL between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in Cape Town. Unfortunately the news isn't good. It's raining! The weather was perfect for the first game of the double header between Chennai and Delhi back in Durban. Let's hope things clear up soon at Newlands.

We just saw some covers on and apparently the weather was clear not too long ago. I'm hoping this is just a passing shower.

While we wait, there's always Fantasy Cricket to distract you. There are two games - the Regular salary cap and Pick'em (predict the winning team for each match). Good luck.

It's the strategic time-out. The catcher who got rid of Yusuf Pathan was Yashpal Singh and not a substitute. Nice to see Mendis strike straightaway. Rajasthan will have to rebuild here.

Rifat: "I dont know why Kolkata is not yet picking Mashrafe, they dont have Shoaib in the team, how can u pick some rookie players instead of a very good limited over bowler, and a handy slogger at the end of innings. I cant understand why they spend so much money for him for just bench warming."
