Indian Premier League - 30th match

Kings XI Punjab v Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals won by 78 runs

And the PJ's, not surprisingly, get worse! I accidentally mentioned May 3 instead of May 5. I'm slowly losing it. It's been an entertaining 15 minutes before the start, hasn't it? Let's call it "Twenty20 and the art of making mistakes."

Let me assure you this wasn't done on purpose.

Oh well! March instead of May. Sheesh. I need to find a dark room.

Anyways, time for action. Powar will open the bowling.

12.15: Rajasthan have struggled for consistency and the loss of some key players like Watson and Tanvir has hit them. They snatched victory when the game slipped away from them.

Before I continue let me clarify that Match No. 305 was meant as a joke! Some of you have taken it literally. We're only halfway through the series and it seems like 304 games already.

Back to the game, one contest to look out for is Irfan v Yusuf. The elder Yusuf has played a bigger part because of his big hitting. Irfan has taken more wickets with a better average but he's there primarily for his bowling.

Toss: Yuvraj has won the toss and Punjab will bowl first. There is a bit of grass on the surface and that prompted Yuvraj's decision. Sreesanth gets his first game and he replaces Vikramjeet Malik.

Rajasthan have made a couple of changes. Niraj Patel comes in for the out of sorts Swapnil Asnodkar and Amit Singh replaces Munaf Patel, who's being rested.

Amit Singh is a fast-medium bowler from Gujarat.

"It's a measure of the competitiveness of this year's IPL that the two teams clashing in Durban on Tuesday are five places apart in the rankings table, but only one point separates them. Kings XI Punjab have eight points from seven games, while Rajasthan Royals are on seven from as many games." Read more in the preview by S Rajesh.

11.45: Welcome to match No.305 of the IPL. It;s Kings XI Punjab v Rajasthan Royals, the first part of the Tuesday double header.

First thing's first. It's time for Fantasy Cricket. Join the IPL fantasy league yet? It's loads of fun. There are two versions of this for the IPL (Salary cap and Pick 'em). Get cracking before the match begins.

The toss will get underway very shortly. The action shifts to Durban again. Yesterday we had an action packed game between Chennai and Deccan despite the one-sided result.

The experts feel this will be a bowl-first wicket.

Rajasthan have the momentum in the time-out. This is their best opening stand. Punjab haven't looked very sharp on the field. Nice to see Smith get amongst the runs and playing his natural game.

Glenn: "as an aussie, can I just say how good it is to see Smith getting amongst it. My hat came off at the way he conducted himself (and his team) during their australian tour. Batting with a broken hand just topped it off. I've been waiting impatiently for him to get some runs in the IPL and am happy to be following them today."
