Indian Premier League - 30th match

Kolkata Knight Riders v Deccan Chargers

Kolkata Knight Riders won by 24 runs

Chris Gayle and Sourav Ganguly are out in the middle, it's Ganguly who'll take strike, Kemar Roach has the ball. Off we go. Daryl Harper says Chalo

Yash sends us this, while the openers make their way out: "Saurav should try the concept of pinch hitter by bringing in Ajit Agarkar somewhere up. This would enable them to step up the game and bring a nice change. Over period Ajit has been used at that role to some good success."

7.40pm Charl Langeveldt and Mandeep Singh have been left out. Mohnish Parmar has taken Ishant Sharma's place. Kolkata have picked an extra spinner on this track. We'll get you the XIs soon. Ganguly says there could be some turn in the pitch later on in the innings. Deccan have left out RP Singh, and drafted in Harmeet Singh.

7.30pm Ganguly has won the toss and elected to bat. Shane Bond and Cheteshwar Pujara are back.

At this point, we are exactly at the tournament's halfway stage. This is the 30th game of the IPL. The teams, Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders, are ranked in the bottom tier of the points table and are in urgent need of a revival. Check out the preview for the game, and Sourav Ganguly's take on the race for the semis.

65 runs off the last five overs, and Kolkata have reached a stage where they can put pressure on Deccan. This is an excellent score, achieved largely due to Ganguly's knock and Hussey's valuable contribution in the later overs. Roach was taken apart, Ojha began superbly but Ganguly damaged his figures. The fielding was poor, fumbles and a couple of missed stumpings and Deccan have much to make amends for when they come out to bat. Join us in a bit for the chase.

Liam: "Roach now has 2 wickets in 7 T20's @ 101, This is why IPL teams should not just splash all their money on a bowler who bowled well in a TEST series, he obviously has little experience in T20's and it's showing ."

End of over 20 (12 runs) Kolkata Knight Riders 181/6
