Bangladesh in Ireland T20I Series - 1st T20I

Ireland v Bangladesh

Bangladesh won by 71 runs

Good afternoon and welcome to ESPNCricinfo's coverage of the 3 match RSA Twenty20 challenge between Ireland and Bangladesh. My name is Justin Smyth and im going to be bringing you live coverage on this evenings game here in Stormont, Belfast.

Both todays teams are going to be appearing at the ICC T20 world cup which is going to start in Sri Lanka in 62 days time. Bangladesh where drawn in group D and they will play against New Zealand and Pakistan. Ireland came through the qualifying tournament held in Dubai in March, beating Afghanistan by 5 wickets in the final. Ireland will play in group B and play against Australia and the West Indies.

This isnt the first time that these teams have played a 20/20 against each other. In the group stages of the 2009 world cup Ireland beat Bangladesh by 6 wickets Ireland are ranked 9th on the icc rankings for T20 cricket. Bangladesh dont appear on the table due to the small number of T20 internationals that they have played so far. Bangladesh are playing three games here in Ireland and then will move on to the Netherlands where they will play games again Scotland and the Netherlands.

Bangladesh have played two warm up games on Monday. Beating an Ireland XI by 7 wickets and an NCU Presidents XI by 48 runs.

As always when games are played at stormont the weather forcast is always important, in this #Irishsummer more then most! It seems like its been raining every day since the summer began. Today is no different. We have just had a big shower here at the ground and the covers are still on. So it looks like we are going to have a delayed start here today The umpires have been out in the middle and the news is that as long as we dont have anymore rain, the toss will be at 5.00pm . The game will start at 5.15pm with no loss of overs.

Just to confirm there is no TV coverage at the ground, so if you have any questions or feedback on the game then please click the link on the bottom of the page. If you are on twitter then tweet using #IrevsBang . Otherwise sit back and relax and let Cricinfo do the work whilst you enjoy what we hope will be an exciting game!

5.00pm The good news is the sun is out and the covers are coming off. The umpires are in the middle and as long as they are happy we should have the toss soon. William Porterfield has won the toss and Ireland will be fielding first

The umpires have decideds that the game will now start at 5.30pm .

The Ireland team is Porterfield, Kevin O'Brien, Cusack, Johnston, Joyce, Mooney, Niall O'Brien, Rankin, Sorenson, Stirling and White. Bangladesh's team is Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah, Tamin Iqbal, Ashraful, Shakib Al Hasan, Hossain, Rahman, Razzak, Mortaza, Hasan and Sunny.

Just to confirm that Wilson is playing for Ireland and White is the 12th man.

The groundsmen are still out there working on the pitch. During the warm up a window on the tractor was broken. They have moved a big vacuum cleaner on the ground to try and hover up all the pieces of glass!

The umpires are on their way out to the middle. Ireland have taken the field to a big run of applause
