Brett D'Oliveira is the third generation of his family to play for Worcestershire and while perhaps not possessing the ability to rival his famous grandfather, Basil, he is capable of developing into a useful allrounder that can match his father, Damien's, 13-year professional career.
He is still quite raw, but with leg-spin offers something different and, having been offered a professional contract after coming through the Worcestershire academy, was given an opportunity in Worcestershire's one-day side in 2012 and played the final three County Championship matches of the season. Back in Division Two for 2013, Worcestershire will hope D'Oliveira can develop into the specialist spinner their attack has been lacking.
