4.6 to H Masakadza, gets rapped on the pads with an inswinger. It was full and shaping in. Masakadza looks to attack and ends up walking into the shot and falls over as he misses the attempted on drive. The umpire takes little time to give it out. That looked plumb. Replays show that the ball would have clipped the inside of leg stump. 19/2

3.1 to PJ Moor, picks out midwicket. A rather soft dismissal and the move to open with Moor does not pay off. It was good length ball and angling in on the pads. No real swing on that one and Moor fails to keep the tuck off the pads down, ends up offering catching practice to midwicket. 8/1
702623.71222000
18.4 to Sikandar Raza, goes down for a sweep shot and gets rapped on the pads. Given by umpire Richard Illingworth but Raza has opted for a review. It pitched around leg and straightened. Question is if height will be an issue. No edge on that, so what remains to be seen is if the ball is hitting the stumps. It momentarily seemed like it may have pitched outside leg, which may have prompted Raza to go up for the review. But ball-tracking shows it's pitching on middle and leg and hitting the leg stump flush. That was a tricky call and a good decision in the end. 89/5
22.1 to MN Waller, miscued slog that is taken by the bowler. Needless shot from Waller. Looks to go against the turn as he looks to blast this one over the leg side against the turn. Gets a leading edge for his troubles and skies it straight down the ground. It stays in the air forever but Pathirana calls for the catch and settles under it to take it without fuss. 108/6

15.2 to CR Ervine, chips the simplest of return catches and that is another soft dismissal. Wicket off the second ball for the legspinner. It was slightly short of a length and spinning in. Ervine tries to flick and closes the bat face early. Gets a leading edge for his troubles and the ball lobs straight back to the bowler who would have caught it in his sleep. 72/3
17.2 to TK Musakanda, gone next ball. Length ball, comes forward to defend and it's spinning away from him but he reaches out for it. Gets a healthy outside edge, first slip snaffles it. 85/4
29.3 to AG Cremer, good catch at extra cover. And credit to the bowler too for taking pace off the ball and tossing it up, inviting the drive. Cremer drives and does so uppishly and Kusal Mendis times him jump to perfection to snaffle it. That may have stopped on him a bit. 133/7

34.6 to SC Williams, another slog sweep gone awry. Williams gets down and goes across the line of this fuller ball. Skews it off the leading edge to cover where Dhananjaya de Silva pouches it comfortably. That was he off-cutter and Williams did not account for the turn. 155/8
36.1 to TS Chisoro, nicked behind. It was an off-cutter that just left him a little bit. On a length and Chisoro was forward and sticking his bat out. The blade turns just as the ball takes the outside edge and the wicketkeeper, standing up to the stumps, snaffles it. So no heroics from Chisoro this time. 160/9
36.3 to BV Vitori, appeal for lbw and that's the end of that. This was a full toss that should have been smacked over deep midwicket, but he was too early into what looked an ungainly heave. Missed it completely and the ball hit him dead in front of leg stump. As an umpire you can't ask for a simpler decision than that.. 160/10

0.1 to DM de Silva, fuller ball, De Silva looks to flick to the leg side but the ball swings back in and raps him on the pad. But the question is if it has swung back in enough to take the ball past leg. Doesn't seem like, at least after initial looks at the replay. There is certainly no bat involved. Ball-tracking shows three reds. The ball would have crashed into middle and leg. So early breakthrough for Zimbabwe, just what they needed in defence of a small total. 1/1
4.2 to N Dickwella, gone through Dickwella's defence. Beats him with pace. It was full and there is a bit of late movement in. Dickwella pushes half-heartedly forward and ends up leaving a gap between bat and pad through which the ball sneaks through and takes out off and leg stumps. 29/2
6.1 to MDKJ Perera, chance at mid-on, taken. Can't understand this approach by Sri Lanka. It was a length ball just outside off and Perera looks to slog it across the line. Ends up skewing it and skies it to mid-on where Waller catches it easily. Just minutes to go for lunch and they lose another wicket. 42/3

27.3 to BKG Mendis, that's a brilliant catch at deep square leg. Take a bow, Sean Williams! Mendis got down to slog sweep this fuller ball and got a top-edge on it. Williams backtracks a bit and times his jump to perfection as he snaffles it with his fingers pointing towards the sky. He had the sun right in his face but has plucked a stunner. They go upstairs to check is his foot touched the rope but he has is fine by a good margin. 117/4
