Wilfrid George Kalaugher was a right-arm quick bowler from Canterbury, New Zealand who was at Balliol College, Oxford from 1928-31. He played eight first-class matches for Oxford, taking 20 wickets, and in 1929 especially he could perhaps have considered himself unlucky to miss out on a blue. E.M. Wellings, less
impressive in the trials, won a place instead of him. Kalaugher, who played
for Oxfordshire in 1931 and '32 and bowled at times with devastating effect,
did win an athletics blue at Oxford.
