William Ezra Coleman died on January 27, aged 81. He played for Hertfordshire from 1896 until 1914, being a good fast bowler and a hard-hitting batsman, who scored 107 for Hertfordshire v. Northamptonshire at Watford in 1902. In 1906 he played for the Minor Counties v. the West Indies and scored 62 and 38 not out and took 5 wickets for 79. He was coach at St. George's School, Harpenden, for two years and then joined the ground staff at Lord's, where lie stayed for ten years. On leaving Lord's he was appointed coach at Aldenham School, where he stayed for 23 years.
