John Davies was a Midland Bank manager who played once for Glamorgan, scoring 11 and 0 against Worcestershire at Cardiff Arms Park. But promotion within the bank led to him deciding not to look to further his county career, and instead he became a leading figure in South Wales club cricket. A right-hand batsman and legspinner, he played for Cowbridge, who he led for 15 years before becoming treasurer and then president. He also played for the Forty Club and Herefordshire.
