Wisden obituary
Robert Reid Dower, who died at Cape Town, where he was an attorney, on September 16, aged 88, was the oldest surviving South African Test cricketer. He played in the first of the two Tests with Lord Hawke's team in 1898-99 at Johannesburg. He assisted Cape Colony and Eastern Province.
