Livingstone Sargeant was a right-hand batsman, one of the best produced by the small island of Nevis, who marked his first-class debut in 1967-68 by scoring a hundred for the Leeward Islands against the touring MCC at the St John's Recreation Ground. The following season he scored three fifties in his first four innings for the Leewards in the Shell Shield but his career hit the buffers when he was banned for a year following his part in a disputed decision which led to a riot and the abandonment of a match between Antigua and Nevis. His form thereafter was never quite as good although he scored his second hundred in his final season and bowed out with neat symmetry where he began his first-class career, against a touring side at St John's. He only played three List A games but they included a fifty against another MCC side, this time the 1973-74 tourists.
