Profile

Sarah Tsukigawa was given the opportunity to debut for New Zealand at the start of the 2006 ODI series against India at the age of 24. She performed well and consistently throughout the series and got a chance against Australia in the Rose Bowl series in October the same year. Though she only completed her ten-over quota once in the series, and managed only three wickets and 29 runs from four games, Tsukigawa was picked for the Quadrangular series in India in February-March 2007. She averaged a whopping 86.50, batting at No. 6 in four games and took her best figures of 3 for 33 against India. She was a thrilling sight to see as she ran in to bowl, matching her all black uniform with a black band across her forehead, conjuring up images of a Samurai warrior. She plays her club cricket for Otago women and captained the side in the 2006/07 State League
