Keith Tomlins was a right-hand middle-order batsmen who was with Middlesex for almost a decade without ever winning a regular slot in a side packed with internationals. Nevertheless, he played a part in the county's Championship wins in 1980, 1982 and 1985 and was in the side which won the B&H Cup in 1983 (although he made a duck!). In 1986 he moved to Gloucestershire where he enjoyed his best summer, scoring 696 runs at 29.00, but he lost his place the following year. After retirement he went into coaching.
