Mathew Sinclair has said that he will consider his options before deciding whether to sign the new contract he has been offered by New Zealand Cricket.

Sinclair was not given a contract in 2005-06 but was restored to favour in the list for the coming season which was released last week.

"I'm sitting on the fence at the moment, that's the best way to go about it," Sinclair told the Hawke's Bat Today website. "I think at the moment there's no need to rush and accept it straight away. We're still weighing up options as to what's possibly out there.

Sinclair is thought to have been talking to domestic sides in South Africa and Australia.

"It's an honour to be acknowledged by New Zealand Cricket," he admitted, "but I think it's a good time to sit back and think about a few things."
