Profile

David Willey, the son of former England allrounder turned umpire Peter Willey, made his debut for Northamptonshire at the start of the 2009 season. Obdurate, like his father, but with a far less unorthodox technique, he struck a half century on Championship debut and was soon rewarded with a professional contract. Batting and bowling left-handed, Willey claimed 43 first-class wickets in 2012 and has the potential to mount a push for England Lions honours.
