Scott Elstone is a batting allrounder who joined Nottinghamshire in 2010. A product of their academy system, he made his first-team debut in the CB 40 against Scotland in August 2010, making an unbeaten 18 from 12 deliveries. Though he hasn't yet cracked regular first-team cricket for the county, he hit the headlines as a substitute fielder for England in 2011.

In the second Test, at his home ground Tent Bridge, Elstone was a regular face as 12th man and part of the victory charge on the final day. After catching Suresh Raina on the third-man boundary his every move was greeted with cheers from the Nottinghamshire faithful. There was less applause when he spilled a chance from Praveen Kumar later in the day but he atoned for that mistake six balls later, just about holding on to a juggled catch on the boundary to dismiss Harbhajan Singh.

He became the youngest English substitute fielder to take a catch in England since Ben Spendlove snaffled South Africa's Gerhardus Liebenberg off Dominic Cork in the first Test at Edgbaston in 1998.
