Shakib has called incorrectly and so Daniel Vettori has decided to bat first. Vettori welcomes in Andy McKay and Peter Ingram to make their ODI debuts.

Shakib announces just the one change to their team from the T20I on Wednesday night in Hamilton, with Imrul Kayes coming in for Aftab who will carry the drinks.

New Zealand came back well in the end with Oram top-scoring with 83 off 40 balls and Neil Broom making a career best 71. Bangladesh showed some real promise in the field but unfortunately their bowlers weren't able to hit the right areas often enough.

Shafiul bowled nicely to end with four for 68 off ten while Naeem provided a handy holding role through the middle, aking one for 51 off ten.
