Karachi Dolphins 242 for 1 (Zakir 117*, Subhan 84) beat Karachi Zebras 241 for 9 (Hussain 79, Shahzaib 4-36) by nine wickets
An unbeaten century by Asif Zakir and an 84 from Fazal Subhan helped Karachi Dolphins storm to the final of the One Day Cup, beating Karachi Zebras by nine wickets at the National Stadium. The Dolphins will meet Peshawar Panthers in the final at the same venue on New Year's Eve.
Put in to bat, the Zebras began steadily but lost half their side for 118 in the 26th over. Shahzaib Ahmed took two of those wickets with his leg spin. Babar Hussain held the innings together with an attacking fifty and added 56 for the sixth wicket with Faraz Ahmed. Hussain smashed 79 off 53 balls with eight fours and three sixes. He was the last man to be dismissed, caught off Babar Rehman off the final ball of the innings. Shahzaib finished with 4 for 36 off nine overs.
Subhan and Zakir were dominant from the outset, adding 189 for the first wicket in 26 overs. Subhan's 84 came off 77 balls before he was dismissed by Faraz. The captain, Zakir, remained unbeaten on 117 as the Dolphins chased the target with 47 balls to spare.
