Perhaps the oldest venue in Malaysia - the earliest games were played between 1884 and 1886. Known as 'The Spotted Dog' or now 'The Dog' - perhaps after the wife of an early member leaving her spotted dog outside the entrance whenever she visited.
It was here that Malaysia defeated the Australians by 39 runs in 1927.
It was also on this ground that Gary Sobers, playing for a Commonwealth XI in March 1964 was bowled first ball by Alex Delikan - Sobers turned the tables next day, taking the first five wickets in five balls.
Most important, the RSC was the venue of the raising of the Malaysian flag at midnight August 30, 1957, on the proclamation of Malaysia as a sovereign nation.
