Last time when I spoke to Sachin (when he had his double in ODI), I told him he is missing only one achievement in career profile. One Triple century in tests. He was serious for that.
I wish he can complete his profile and then retire. He was in form till last one year, and he will be back with bang.
I wish to see him playing till 2015 and have 120+ international centuries with at least one triple in tests..
@Kapil Kaushik: You hit the nails on their heads. Yes. I mean it. Singling Tendulkar out and blaming every failure of this dismal Indian team on his shortcomings shows a pervert mindset. As much as we (the majority of Indians) like to love Tendulkar, there are a handful of noisy people who are part of cottage industry and want to run him down. Tendulkar symbolises success and personal triumph and he is still the last man standing for India. When Tendulkar fails, many of those who are criticizing him today feel their own below average/empty achievements in their bones. They can't handle failure. Tendulkar can. You will see. Sidharth Monga in his article said it right. Let us allow (who are we??) Tendulkar his struggle. He might be 40 but still he is the best batsman in that Indian line up.
@Kapil Kaushik, i see you are from IT... can you say i have worked hard for 10 years before .. so let me continue doing nothing for few more years ?? it is not acceptable right ? ...
That Tone. Totally /Hilarious.
@Kapil Kaushik : you are correct , at last I can see a genuine Cricket lover ...
It's a pity that Sachin has to face such harsh criticism. He would be the last one to throw his weight around. I'm sure his bad performances are weighing on his mind and sooner or later he will take the inevitable decision. Till then let him enjoy his game.
When will Sachin retire?
a. after 100th birthday b. after 100 ducks c. after 100 pairs d. after 100th clean bowled e. all the above
(Hint: There are no wrong answers)
Amazing thought! Lakho me Ek! After all HE is the demiGod of Indian cricket ............. ummm more thru Coca cola contract until 2014!
This is not funny... Sachin has served the team for so long and deserves some bit of RESPECT more than anything else... It would be great if people stand by his side rather than pulling him down, he is just like family member, do we actually criticize a family member this much when he/she is in slumps? We have cheered his accomplishments and have valued every thing he has done for the team (I won't say nation because its his profession). If we cheered him in his peak, then why don't support him a bit when he is down.
Who are we? Some corporate managers who judge their 'resources' by their monthly performance? And how good are we actually in jobs which we do? Do we excel each day, on each project on every goddamn thing which we do? I guess if the answer to all this is yes, then go ahead, criticize him, but for me, he is a Hero, he always will be and till he wants to continue, he should be given full freedom and most of all RESPECT.
i am hoping Dhoni shows some spunk and selects Rahane over Sachin for the next two tests. After all, Dhoni was the one who oversaw the transition of the ODI team from Dravid/Ganguly to Kohli/Raina.
