Pakistan seamer Mohammad Talha has been ruled out of the Test series against England in the UAE due to injury. "Talha developed back problem and in the MRI scan it was revealed that he has a disc problem and when his pain subsides in the next two three days he will return home," Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema told AFP.

Cheema said Talha needed 10 to 12 days rest. Talha didn't play for Pakistan in their 10-wicket win in Dubai, but he did pick up four wickets in the warm-up game for the PCB XI prior to the Test series. Cheema said Pakistan would not be calling in a replacement.

The second Test begins in Abu Dhabi on January 25.

Junaid khan performed wonderfully wel against Lanksans and richly deserve to have a go at england.

I think talha was only in the squad as a bowler to be used in the nets , he did not have much of a chance to be in the playing 11 with wahab and junaid waiting in the wings. I would like to see wahab in place of cheema and umer akmal to replace asad shafiq.

There was no point of bringing him into the squad in the squad any ways. We already have 3 great fast bowlers and one match fixing fast bowler. Wahab Riaz shouldn't be playing any more. He has no talent. The only way he gets wickets are by catches that are near the boudry line. Only in i or 2 matches he will perform, but in the others he will suck! Pakistan should stick with 3 fbowlers, and 2 spinners. I dont know if anybody else has this on there mind but abdul razzaq sucks. He is not perfoming at all. I mean wher did he get his spot in the national team. His last chance should be that twenty20 world cup. If that doesnt work then bring Hammad Azam. Pakistan Zinadabad!

Not calling for replacement ? Are the flight tickets too expensive ??

Bring in Mohammad Sami. he looks to be in form these days.

This is the best chance to get Sadaf Hussain!

But instead they don't want a replacement which is stupid because Cheema was also struggling in the last match.

Salaam, Better luck next time. You're the future of Pakistan Fast Bowling

There was no use of Talha being with the squad either & Pakistan pre-planned not to play more than 2 pacers and they are carrying already Junaid & Wahab, both won't be able to find a pace in the final XI or at-least one of them.

Not like they were going to play him anyway. For the next test i'd like to see either Junaid Khan or Wahab Riaz in place of Cheema.
