12.3 to IJL Trott, Trott's gone now, tickling a ball that was sailing harmlessly down the leg side! Pakistan have made two huge blows within the first hour. He shuffles across a short of length ball that bustled through, possibly faster than he expected, and bounced a touch extra as well. Trott looked to glance it, but ended up edging it too fine and a prancing Adnan takes a good tumbling catch. Who said the Akmals were butter-fingered? England have lost their Ashes heroes for very little, but there's plenty left in the cylinder.. 31/2
63510.83310000
5.3 to AN Cook, Hafeez does it again, with the most golden of arms doing the rounds! Cook is gone. Short of a length outside off, it skids and hurries through Cook without spinning as much he would have expected - typical new ball sort of turn. Cook looks to cut, has no room and gets a thin edge. Adnan Akmal holds on, using the wrists and the thighs to assist him. If you are a left-hand opener, go hide, since Prof. Hafeez is in the house! Cook is mighty frustrated, and bangs the bat on the turf as he walks back.. 10/1
1855212.88846000
59.3 to GP Swann, nicely bowled and got him. Just enough turn to beat the outside edge of Swann's forward push and it turns into the top of off stump. A fine delivery and Pakistan will be delighted to have removed that partnership. Swann was perhaps just playing inside the line slightly and was beaten by just a little bit of grip. 151/8
24.375572.241145000
18.6 to AJ Strauss, Strauss goes for the pull to a ball never there for the stroke, the delivery skids on and the England captain loses his off stump. Much too full to pull and it skidded on to leave Strauss nowhere with his attempted pull, he was miles away from it. 42/3
20.1 to IR Bell, oh out again! This is wonderfully bowled. The doosra, Bell doesn't pick it and gets a feather-edge behind. A beautiful length brings Bell forward and the ball just grips enough to straighten away from the forward push of Bell. It's the faintest of edges and a simple catch to the keeper. Great stuff from Ajmal. 42/4
20.4 to KP Pietersen, more drama as this squeezes past the outside edge of Pietersen, runs away for leg byes, now there's a review This could well be out. Looks very straight. It's out! Slips past Pietersen's forward prod, strikes him on the back pad on the roll bending forward and the replays have the ball going on to hit middle and leg half way up. 43/5
38.1 to EJG Morgan, oh a swing and miss and given out lbw. Referred by Morgan. It's hit him on the back leg and plumb in front. Morgan was on one knee trying to slog sweep but the ball skidded on under his attempted stroke and an easy decision for the umpire is confirmed by the replays.. 82/6
42.1 to SCJ Broad, Some way to begin action after drinks. Broad misses a sweep and is given lbw. One of those balls that held its line after landing on a length. The ball lands just inside the mat, in front of off stump and Broad misses the sweep. He's hit in front of off and middle, and the ball is crashing into middle and leg. Plumb. England continue to sweep their way to ignominy, while wasting reviews on the side. Ajmal has five, what a champ!. 94/7
66.4 to CT Tremlett, the doosra and gone. Beats the outside edge of Tremlett, gets struck on the flap of the back pad, that's hitting off stump and up goes the finger. They consider a review but neither team have any left. Replays showed it was "umpires call" on hitting Tremlett but looked good enough to give live. 168/9
72.3 to JM Anderson, that'll do it. A slider onto Anderson's front pad, striking him halfway up and the finger is raised. It held its line enough to grab a bite of the leg stump on the replays. Seven wickets for Ajmal, a marvellous performance.. 192/10

80.6 to Asad Shafiq, caught behind! Lovely from Jimmy. Classic stuff on off stump and it's a thick edge to Prior's right who takes a good catch. Shaif came half-forward - that classic undercooked batting that doesn't work against proper bowling - and got a good nick to Prior. It was a very smart take from the keeper diving away to his right to take with one hand. 231/5
104.3 to Abdur Rehman, Anderson manages to sneak one in as well! Literally, the ball snuck back in after pitching around the off stump and hit the top of the off stump, Rehman was trapped at the crease, we wondered if it would be risky exposing Rehman in the final over but as it happened, he couldn't survive. 288/7
2165302.52987001
3188432.7014713001
35.5 to Taufeeq Umar, the bowling change works! From round the wicket, the ball lands in line with the off stump and holds its line, Umar plays down the wrong line and the ball hits the timber straight, loss of concentration. 114/1
39.3 to Azhar Ali, Broad's the man with the golden arm in the second hour! The faintest of edges, lands outside off and Broad gets some outward movement off the seam which surprised the batsman and possibly everyone else, he prods forward but the ball shaved the willow and Bowden was convinced. Hot spot confirmed the edge. 128/2
105.6 to Umar Gul, didn't take England long to strike, soft dismissal, Broad pitches it up outside off and Gul can't resist chasing it, ends up spooning it to Morgan at point, close call for Broad as he nearly overstepped but it's a legal delivery. 289/8
29.5310743.5812713100
56.4 to Mohammad Hafeez, full, Hafeez goes for the sweep, misses and is hit on the full. Given out but referred. Replays have the ball "umpire's call" on hitting Hafeez low on the pad, going on to hit off stump. And England make the breakthrough just before drinks which will be taken now. Another cross-bat shot to a spinner produces a wicket.. 176/3
103.5 to Misbah-ul-Haq, Swann gets some turn and traps him on the pads as he lunges forward and across to defend, he wasn't exactly offering a shot, the decision is reviewed, the ball pitched outside off and spun back in pretty adjacent to the stumps, Bowden wasn't convinced, Hawkeye reveals that the ball was hitting leg stump. 283/6
115.6 to Saeed Ajmal, given out caught at short leg. Referred immediately but we can't use hotspot because it's out a frame apparently...now on the normal replays it looks as if it might have missed Ajmal's glove before coming up off the pad to Cook under the lid but no hotspot means that the third umpire has no conclusive evidence to overturn Billy Bowden's out decision so Ajmal has to go.... 319/9
119.5 to Adnan Akmal, stumped down the leg side! Swann tosses it up and draws him down the pitch, turn and bounce, Adnan did not bother heading back because he was a long way down, easy stumping for Prior. 338/10
821612.00371000
67.6 to Younis Khan, that's a masterstroke by Strauss! The innocuous Trott gets a wicket, he lands it a shade outside off and gets it to come in slightly, Younis gets his front pad across and didn't appear to offer a proper shot, he was half forward, hits him in line with the stumps and Bowden sends him marching. 202/4

4.5 to AJ Strauss, caught down the leg side and Strauss is reviewing it. Strauss tried to run it down to to the leg side and there was a sound, we have the benefit of a proper Hotspot view this time and there are no visible marks, it seems now that Strauss is safe but the verdict is awaited. He's given him out. Well I'm not totally convinced. There was a sound but Hotpsot didn't reveal anything conclusively. I guess it evens out a bit now with the Ajmal dismissal. 6/1
12.3 to AN Cook, gone and this is ridiculous. Another strangle! Cook walks off having gloved one through to Akmal. I think he was a little too early on the stroke, the ball stuck in the pitch slightly and he wasn't in the best position to play the shot. There's a gentle deflection off the glove and an easy take for Akmal to his right. 25/2
14.5 to KP Pietersen, out. That is shocking. Pietersen has holed out to deep square leg. Awful shot, never in control of a decent shorter delivery that's hurried KP. It's a big ballooning top edge and a simple take for the fielder in from the rope. 25/3
40.4 to IJL Trott, oh Trott's out. It's such a lazy stroke and it's an outside edge through to the keeper. He'd been on 49 for a long time, I just wonder whether that played on his mind at all. Doesn't sound very Trott-like but he took the chance to chase a short, wide ball and got a thick outside edge that was pouched easily but Akmal. A very poor way to go after playing so beautifully. 87/6

20.1 to IR Bell, that's a cracker and given out hitting Bell's back leg. He goes for the review...but it's plumb and England have wasted their second referral. Another wonderful doosra does for Ian Bell, beaten on the outside edge trying to play forward. It hits him on the back leg on the knee roll, going on to hit middle and off. Bowden got this one right.... 35/4
41.2 to MJ Prior, done by a turner. It kicks back on Prior who was playing back and he's caught bang in front. The regular off-spinner from Ajmal which keeps a little bit low but once again Ajmal's deceived an England batsman in the flight. 87/7
57.5 to GP Swann, Ajmal takes ten! Tossed up on the off stump, Swann doesn't pick the doosra, the ball stops on him and lobs off the bat and Shafiq runs forward and takes the catch on the tumble at short cover. 160/10
1223733.08544100
33.3 to EJG Morgan, Pakistan sneak in another one before tea! No doubts about this one, the arm ball this time from Rehman, lands outside off and Morgan's trapped at the crease, he tries to defend but the ball takes the thin edge to Akmal, no need to refer it. 74/5
51.3 to SCJ Broad, Broad decides to clear the ropes like Swann did but he's a few inches short, stays at the crease tries to take him downtwon over long-on, Asad Shafiq takes it easily. 135/8
51.4 to CT Tremlett, sharp catch by the Prof! Flatter delivery on the off stump that grips, Tremlett gets forward but fails to cover the line, outside edge is snapped up well by Hafeez at first slip. 135/9
