Pakistan v England Test Series - 2nd Test

England v Pakistan

Pakistan won by 72 runs

Overs 1-50  | Overs 51-100

18.3

Swann to Taufeeq Umar, OUT, Taufeeq had no idea where his off stump was! Lands on the off stump and goes through with the arm, Taufeeq didn't offer a shot and the ball hammered the off stump and dislodged it. Swann did well to keep him guessing just two balls earlier

Taufeeq Umar b Swann 16 (75m 48b 2x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

Pakistan 51/1   Mohammad Hafeez 28* (65b 4x4)   GP Swann 3.3-0-10-1

23.5

Panesar to Mohammad Hafeez, OUT, the drop didn't cost anything for England, Panesar bowls the arm ball and Hafeez stays back at the crease and the ball skids through the gap between bat and pad, Hafeez didn't account for the quicker one

Mohammad Hafeez b Panesar 31 (93m 77b 4x4 0x6) SR: 40.25

Pakistan 61/2   Azhar Ali 7* (20b)   MS Panesar 7.5-1-18-1

36.2

Broad to Younis Khan, OUT, full and back goes the off stump! Seemed to play all round a ball angled into the pads. Khan was trying to go leg side but got nowhere near it playing across the line, the ball comes off the pad and cannons into off stump, sending it cartwheeling back. It did nip back a touch, very good from Broad

Younis Khan b Broad 24 (44m 38b 3x4 0x6) SR: 63.15

Pakistan 98/3   Azhar Ali 20* (57b 1x4)   SCJ Broad 9.2-2-19-1

40.2

Broad to Azhar Ali, OUT, fine delivery and got him! Another beauty from Broady, nipping back just enough to beat the inside edge and the attempted drive for Ali, once more the off stump is sent pinging back towards Prior. Its been great length bowling from Broad, drawing the batsman forward and they've been found wanting against the seaming ball, it's only slight movement but it's enough

Azhar Ali b Broad 24 (78m 68b 1x4 0x6) SR: 35.29

Pakistan 103/4   Misbah-ul-Haq 1* (13b)   SCJ Broad 11.2-3-21-2

78.6

Swann to Asad Shafiq, OUT, big sweep attempted and given out lbw. He's gone upstairs but umpires call on review so Shafiq has to go. It was a horrible heave across the line and hit him on the back leg going on to hit the stumps. Shafiq has thrown it away there, got a bit carried away

Asad Shafiq lbw b Swann 58 (130m 126b 7x4 1x6) SR: 46.03

Pakistan 203/5   Misbah-ul-Haq 39* (119b 2x6)   GP Swann 17-1-52-2

85.6

Broad to Adnan Akmal, OUT, that was given out as an lbw, strangely though. There appeared to be an inside edge onto the pads which lobbed straight to Prior, Adnan got forward to defend, the ball was bang in line with the stumps, I think Hot Spot showed a faint edge, need to see another replay of that, sorry. When Adnan walked back, he appeared rather unsure about the mode of dismissal, he had a chat with Misbah but they decided not to refer it

Adnan Akmal lbw b Broad 9 (36m 26b 2x4 0x6) SR: 34.61

Pakistan 216/6   Misbah-ul-Haq 43* (135b 2x6)   SCJ Broad 20-3-35-3

92.1

Swann to Abdur Rehman, OUT, the bowling chance works! Three men around the bat to pile on the pressure on the tail-ender, Swann didn't need their assistance because the ball straightened a touch and just shaved the off stump, Rehman came forward but failed to defend it

Abdur Rehman b Swann 0 (26m 7b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pakistan 243/7   Misbah-ul-Haq 70* (165b 5x4 2x6)   GP Swann 17.1-1-52-3

95.4

Broad to Misbah-ul-Haq, OUT, appeal for an lbw and Misbah is reviewing it, lands just a shade outside the off stump and comes back in slightly, Misbah bends forward to defend, the ball sneaks through the gap between pad and bat and hits him just in line with middle and leg, Hawkeye showed that hitting the top of the stump, umpire Davis gave him out and the third umpire confirmed it

Misbah-ul-Haq lbw b Broad 84 (227m 173b 5x4 4x6) SR: 48.55

Pakistan 257/8   Saeed Ajmal 0* (13b)   SCJ Broad 23.4-3-47-4

96.1

Anderson to Saeed Ajmal, OUT, England are running through this, full delivery from Anderson angling on middle and leg, Ajmal tries to play him across the line and misses it completely, adjacent to the stumps and Oxenford is convinced

Saeed Ajmal lbw b Anderson 0 (19m 14b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pakistan 257/9   Umar Gul 0* (2b)   JM Anderson 19.1-5-46-1

96.4

Anderson to Junaid Khan, OUT, and finally we have a catch! Short of a length and rising up on the batsman, too go for Junaid who failed to keep it down, lobs of the top of the bat and easily taken at second slip

Junaid Khan c Swann b Anderson 0 (3m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pakistan 257/10   Umar Gul 0* (2b)   JM Anderson 19.4-5-46-2
