Pakistan v England ODI Series - 4th ODI

England v Pakistan

England won by 4 wickets (with 4 balls remaining)

1.2

Dernbach to Mohammad Hafeez, OUT, gone! Excellent start to Dernbach's comeback. A good length outside off and a tentative poke from Hafeez which sent a regulation catch to the keeper. No footwork to speak of from Hafeez, which has been a problem for a number of Pakistan's batsmen

Mohammad Hafeez c †Kieswetter b Dernbach 1 (7m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

Pakistan 1/1   Azhar Ali 0* (5b)   JW Dernbach 0.2-0-0-1

22.5

Bresnan to Asad Shafiq, OUT, chopped it on trying to cut a ball that was angled in to the right-hander and the shot that had served Shafiq rather well becomes his downfall. It was on a length and Shafiq tried to stand in the crease and chop it down to third man but it just came back in a touch to take the bottom edge onto the stumps

Asad Shafiq b Bresnan 65 (85m 78b 6x4 0x6) SR: 83.33

Pakistan 112/2   Azhar Ali 42* (56b 5x4)   TT Bresnan 4.5-0-28-1

29.6

Briggs to Umar Akmal, OUT, down the pitch, in the air, he hasn't caught this properly and holed out to long off. Didn't get to the pitch, still tried to lift the ball over the fence and paid the penalty, a simple chance for Dernbach coming in a couple of yards from the fence

Umar Akmal c Dernbach b Briggs 12 (22m 21b 1x4 0x6) SR: 57.14

Pakistan 135/3   Azhar Ali 52* (78b 5x4)   DR Briggs 8-0-31-1

33.1

Dernbach to Azhar Ali, OUT, length, an outside egde and caught at point. A fine, diving take from Morgan to his right, bagging the chance with both hands. It was a length ball which he tried to turn to leg but got a leading edge that looped low to point

Azhar Ali c Morgan b Dernbach 58 (128m 89b 5x4 0x6) SR: 65.16

Pakistan 144/4   Shoaib Malik 3* (8b)   JW Dernbach 6.1-0-32-2

43.3

Briggs to Shoaib Malik, OUT, another scalp for the debutant! He gave this one a little more air and Malik missed with a full-blooded sweep, the ball thumping into his back leg right in front of off stump. Classic left-arm spinner's wicket to cap a tidy performance from the new boy

Shoaib Malik lbw b Briggs 23 (57m 33b 0x4 0x6) SR: 69.69

Pakistan 202/5   Misbah-ul-Haq 37* (37b 1x4 1x6)   DR Briggs 9.3-0-37-2

46.2

Finn to Shahid Afridi, OUT, fantastic catch from Bresnan! It was slightly short of a length and Afridi pulled hard but flat through the air, the ball dying on Bresnan as he came in from the deep midwicket boundary but he flung himself forward to take a catch Samit Patel Jonty Rhodes would have been proud of!

Shahid Afridi c Bresnan b Finn 9 (13m 10b 1x4 0x6) SR: 90.00

Pakistan 215/6   Misbah-ul-Haq 41* (44b 1x4 1x6)   ST Finn 8.2-0-29-1

47.1

Bresnan to Misbah-ul-Haq, 1 run, OUT, at last, a comedy run-out! Adnan was far to quick for his own good, scurrying through for one after Misbah's flick to midwicket and then getting halfway down the wicket before realising his partner had declined to take on Samit Patel's arm in pursuit of a second. Adnan is then given a scolding by his captain as he walks off forlornly

Adnan Akmal run out 2 (4m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

Pakistan 220/7   Misbah-ul-Haq 43* (47b 1x4 1x6)   TT Bresnan 8.1-0-42-1

48.3

Finn to Abdur Rehman, OUT, and that's the result! He dropped shorted, targetting Rehman's body, and the batsman could only scoop it to the backward square-leg fielder inside the circle

Abdur Rehman c Trott b Finn 12 (7m 7b 2x4 0x6) SR: 171.42

Pakistan 233/8   Misbah-ul-Haq 44* (48b 1x4 1x6)   ST Finn 9.3-0-40-2

49.4

Dernbach to Misbah-ul-Haq, OUT, no more lives for Misbah - this time he slogs a length ball to deep midwicket and Trott, the man underneath, makes no mistake

Misbah-ul-Haq c Trott b Dernbach 46 (79m 52b 1x4 1x6) SR: 88.46

Pakistan 237/9   Saeed Ajmal 1* (3b)   JW Dernbach 9.4-0-45-3

49.6

Dernbach to Saeed Ajmal, OUT, that'll do it, full and straight and Ajmal has his stumps rearranged. Dernbach finishes with four wickets and it's been something of a comeback for England in the second half of the innings

Saeed Ajmal b Dernbach 1 (8m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 20.00

Pakistan 237/10   Junaid Khan 0* (0b)   JW Dernbach 10-0-45-4
