Sri Lanka tour of United Arab Emirates, 4th ODI: Pakistan v Sri Lanka at Sharjah, Nov 20, 2011
Pakistan won by 26 runs
Played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium (neutral venue)
20 November 2011 - day/night match (50-over match)

Malinga warms up.

Zeeshan: "Dont agree with the other comment. Both Ajmal and Afridi will enjoy new ball specially in these conditions when there is a chance of dew later in the evening."

14.45: We're about 15 minutes away.

Aqib: "Not a good selection by Pakistani management as they are only playing with 2 fast bowlers and 3 spinners (remember 2 new balls in an inning), it could prove disastrous."

Just caught a bit of Angelo Mathews' interview on TV. He said he'd resume bowling in South Africa soon. Not sure if he will get a few overs in this tour.

Good evening and welcome to the fourth ODI in Sharjah. We are just a few minutes away from the toss.

Toss: Pakistan will bat first again. Misbah announced a couple of changes. Shoaib Malik and Aizaz Cheema are in. Razzaq and Sohail Tanvir are out. Sri Lanka are unchanged.

We're seeing ODI cricket by major teams in Sharjah after nearly eight years. Afghanistan played a couple of games last year. Back in the early 2000s, Sri Lanka and Pakistan played so many games in Sharjah, you wondered if the players actually bought houses there. I used to joke about that. It's the start of a new era here.

They're playing on the same surface on which they played the Test. Less grass this time. Not that you can look forward to too much greenery on the playing surface in this part of the world.

It's very important for the series if Sri Lanka can win today and square it 2-2. They're chasing again. Wonder if the dew will be a bigger factor tonight. The previous game was quite enthralling because it was a middle of the road total by today's standards, and the game see-sawed a bit towards the end. Looks like 250 today is the all-new 300, with these new rules.

18.45: This is a very good recovery after being 120 for 7. Afridi played a responsible innings after a long time and we'll see how crucial is knock turns out to be. He also got valuable support from Ajmal. The target may not seem daunting - far from it - but Sri Lanka can expect a real fight. This pitch is slow, the ball keeps stopping and hence makes strokeplay difficult. Pakistan's spinners won't make things easy. Should be an interesting chase. I expect a competitive one. Join us in about half an hour.
