Wilfrid George Kalaugher was a right-arm quick bowler from Canterbury, New Zealand who was at Balliol College, Oxford from 1928-31. He played eight first-class matches for Oxford, taking 20 wickets, and in 1929 especially he could perhaps have considered himself unlucky to miss out on a blue. E.M. Wellings, less impressive in the trials, won a place instead of him. Kalaugher, who played for Oxfordshire in 1931 and '32 and bowled at times with devastating effect, did win an athletics blue at Oxford. CJ Bartlett, The Cricketer
