The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Monday appointed former captain Zaheer Abbas as batting coach for the Under-15 team that will participate in the Asia Cup to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) between Dec 7 and 21.
Zaheer, who scored 5,062 runs from 78 Tests and scored 2,572 from 62 one-day internationals, will assume the charge on Tuesday. Zaheer is also the chairman of the junior selection committee.
Zaheer is the third legend to have been assigned with the national teams. Last month Hanif Mohammad was appointed batting consultant for the Pakistan cricket team playing in Zimbabwe while Fazal Mahmood is the bowling coach for Pakistan Under-15 team and pacers appearing in the Ramadan Cup one-day tournament.
Zaheer's three-week assignment will conclude December 5.
