North West 115 for 3 (Anwar Ali 3-24) lead Sind 96 (Athar 35, Shakeel-ur-Rehman 3-18, Junaid Khan 3-22) by 19 runs
Scorecard

An incisive display from North West handed them control on the opening day as they skittled Sind for 96 in Peshawar. Shakeel-ur-Rehman and Junaid Khan took three wickets apiece after the new ball had done the early damage. By the close North West already had a lead of 19 despite a strong burst from Anwar Ali.

Sind's cause wasn't helped when Faisal Iqbal, who has played 21 Tests for Pakistan, was run out for 4. The only major resistance came from Faisal Athar who made 35 in nearly two hours at the crease before falling to Rehman.

North West didn't have it all their own way in reply as Ali struck three times to leave them on 55 for 3. However, Shoaib Khan jr steadied the innings alongside Rafatullah Mohmand as the fourth-wicket pair added an unbroken 50.

Punjab 250 for 3 (Raza 113, Azhar Ali 99*) v Baluchistan
Scorecard

A fine 113 from Adnan Raza together with Azhar Ali's unbeaten 99 has put Punjab firmly on top after the first day's play against Baluchistan in Lahore. Punjab lost Mohammad Hafeez early for just 3, bowled by Asad Ali, and Umar Akmal for 10, but thereafter Raza and Azhar dominated the day with a third-wicket partnership of 218. Raza was the more aggressive, launching 12 fours and a six, but fell on 113 to Azharullah moments before the close of play. Azhar, meanwhile, was left on a nerve-jangling 99 as stumps were called early.
