A security team from Bangladesh will visit Pakistan on a two-day tour from March 2 to assess the security plan for their proposed cricket tour in April this year, ESPNcricinfo has learnt. A short series of limited-overs matches was planned by the PCB to host its first international series since 2009.

The PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf, along with Subhan Ahmed, the PCB's chief operating officer, last Friday had a detailed meeting with all the top bass of the law enforcement and security agencies in the country and they were assured of a 'box security plan', which includes bullet and bomb proof vehicles, for the Bangladesh home series.

"We have to fulfill their requirements of security and we are looking forward to the team coming in March," a top PCB official told ESPNcricinfo.

The security team includes Shawkat Mustafa - joint secretary from Interior Ministry, Ruhul Kuddus - assistant senior secretary of Sports Ministry, Shafiq Anwar - National Sports Council secretary, Mustafa Kamal - BCB president, Nizamuddin Ahmed Chowdhury - BCB acting CEO, two BCB directors - GS Hasan Tamim and Shamsul Huda, and Col. Mesbah Uddin Serniabat - BCB's security consultant. The team will arrive in Islamabad on March 2.

"We can't say anything particular but definitely the Pakistan tour is very important," Jalal Yunus, the BCB's media committee chairman, told ESPNcricinfo, "Everything is dependent on the security report and whatever we agree has to be confirmed only after assessing the security plan.

"We have learnt that some players and officials were quoted in media over their apprehensions in touring Pakistan but that is their individual perspective, which has nothing to do with the BCB's position."

"Obviously, once we agree to tour Pakistan we will definitely look into all their concerns before touring."

There are two itineraries proposed, one of which includes a three-match ODI series, and the other a series of two ODIs and one Twenty20 international, to be completed in one week in April. Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium , Karachi's National Stadium and Faisalabad's Iqbal Stadium are the venues expected to host the matches.

as a New Zealand supporter I think this tour needs to happen for the good of the game in Pakistan however I do think it will be quite some time until teams such as NZ,AUS,SAF,ENG return to regular tours in Pakistan. The PCB needs the chance to prove to the world that Pakistan is a safe place to host international sport and I do think that can happen. A country should not be ostracised forever due to one tragic incident

Pakistan Govt has all the capability to provide security to bangladesh team. They do it for their president, prime minister and all the elite everyday. BCB must confirm that they are getting the same security protocol for this tour. BCB should also get a comittment from Pakistan for another tour later this year when their confidence will be higher after this first tour.

To all the Bangladeshi fans, let's not forget Pakistan was supportive of your nation's entry to the test arena back in 2000. We're not asking for a repayment, but God forbid, this time could come to any country. Afghans were brave to come visit in 2010, and we salute them. Pakistani cricket needs support from regional countries before it could reach out to the other nations.

@rakibbul. They did propose a full series, but BCB refused to do so. We are in a desperate need of cricket, and we are looking at our Muslim brothers to help us out. Pakistani people really miss watching quality class cricket on their home fields.

Bangladesh's tour of pakistan is based on mutual interest.bangldsh will b playing against a proper test playing nation.while we will see our team playing infront of us.so if bcb decides this series to b playd in middle east then pcb should cancel the tour and try to organize a domestic t20 competition.atleast wo would watch competitive cricket.who wants to play against a team who despite playng test criket for 12 years is stil a minow and never shows a slightest sign of any improvement.

I am an Indian supporter but I hope that international cricket returns to Pakistan. The people of Pakistan deserve the return. They have waited for a very long time. I hope that the Pakistan government is able to provde all the security needed for the cricketers travelling there next month. All the best for both teams.Good always wins over evil!

Fully agree with M_Rakibul_Islam, Bangladesh should first get clearance form ICC and even if ICC gives a go ahead, it should still carry out its own security check before making a positive decision. I would rather them play Pakistan in Dubai;, no need to go to Pakistan. Others are doing that, so why make an exception on your own as its too risky to visit Pakistan.

I hope we Bangladeshis ... have a good tour in Pakistan, all the best.
