Pakistan's tour of the West Indies in July 2013 is likely to be split into two parts in order to accommodate the PCB's plan of hosting India in August for a series that is yet to be confirmed. Pakistan were due to play two Tests, five ODIs and two Twenty20s in the Caribbean in June and July but now they will only play either Tests or limited-overs matches to create a window for India.

According to the FTP, West Indies are scheduled to host Pakistan from the last week in June to the last week in July but they also have a tri-series against India and Sri Lanka during that time. To avoid the clash with Pakistan, the WICB had asked the PCB if their Caribbean tour could be rescheduled to August. That, however, would interfere with the PCB's hopes of hosting India, so Pakistan's West Indies tour had to be split.

ESPNcricinfo understands that after the upcoming limited-over series in India starting on December 25, the PCB is hoping to invite India to play another series in Pakistan.

"The limited-over series isn't [just] what we wanted," a PCB official said. "We wanted long-term bonding with India on reciprocal basis, and to extend our relationship we will invite India to play a series next year in August. We will find a way to at least keep the window open."

Cricket ties between Pakistan and India were put on ice following the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai and the upcoming series will be the first in four years.

Pakistan had also sought a postponement of its scheduled tour of Zimbabwe later this month so that they can tour India. Pakistan were scheduled to tour Zimbabwe before their South Africa visit in 2013, but Zimbabwe Cricket agreed to put it off.

Pakistan are an old team that has no future.

Posted by Harmony111 on (December 21, 2012, 10:31 GMT)

@Saad Bin Sohail: Bro, you guys have all the support from us Ind fans but how can such events be ignored? To the best of my knowledge that SL tour was cleared after PCB promised that the SL team will be given Presidential Level Security (I could be wrong though). But in any case, in the past terrorists have never attacked sports-persons barring Munich 1972. In the case of civil war of SL with the LTTE even the LTTE had said they won't attack the teams when WC 1996 was being held and so a combined Ind-Pak team had played in SL to show it was safe to play there. One more thing, at least in the SL civil war the enemy was known. In the case of Pak I don't think the best teams of ISI know who the enemy is and why is he doing all these things in Pak. Although Taliban often claims the responsibility, why it is attacking innocent ppl is diff to understand. Thus at the moment, a Pak tour is diff though desirable.

i totally believe that , India should visit Pakistan for the revival of cricket in Pakistan. As a die hard Pakistani fan i would recommend BCCI to look for the cricket series in Pakistan . As it was in past , it should reoccur now at the venues in Pakistan which are dried from international cricket . Also it brings ties between in Pakistan as it was done in Past . Lets give some pat to Pakistani cricket Board who are doing so worthy work for Pakistani nation . salute !!

Indian fan here....i dont think India will tour Pakistan but PCB is optimistic...let see what goes...but it is highly unlikely....anyways i would not be surprised to see BCCI inviting Pakistan to play a test series in India in August as India have started playing tests in India in August from last year....India doesnt have a tour scheduled during that period going by the FTP...so you might see India v Pakistan in test series in India in August 2013.

totally agreed with Amjad. i am sure india will not tour to pk

Posted by afaqmalik1 on (December 20, 2012, 11:09 GMT)

You never know what would be the conditions in Pakistan in the days when PCB is planning to invite Indian Cricket team. However, making such statements is really not a good idea when you are not sure. We all Pakistani people know that Pakistan has been a no go area and the major contribution in setting this picture is of the Pakistani Media. Bad things happen everywhere but way of portraying things has really damaged the reputation of Pakistan. I hope that the Good reputation of Pakistan will be rebuilt in the near future. Not just for cricket but for everything.

For the indian fellows: We Pakistani people do not want indian tour to Pakistan, just like you want, unless Pakistan gets a clear label. So dont be tensed!!!!

Posted by sabeeh89 on (December 20, 2012, 6:15 GMT)

nobody should tour Pakistan right now. Security is a huge concern. It would be naive to think Pakistan can provide security without diverting its security forces from other places. Even then, the threat exists.

Play in UAE, play in Malaysia, play anywhere else.

I am embarrassed for the people who have expressed their hopes to host India next summer.

Do not forget that Palestine football team and Bangladesh football team also came to Pakistan, along with some low-level European clubs.

I don't think India will tour Pakistan in August, looking forward to Westindies V Pakistan though should be a good contest between 2 resurgent sides who were among the top in the 80's.

HASANCHEEMA- U will find majority of IND FANS SUPPORTING PAK but when we see people india haters like getsetgopak- kiwirocker we feel deferently , how ever we are looking forward for upcoming matches- getsetgopak- if we are at BD level (no disrespect to BD) , it should be cackwalk for u r team in the odi/t-20-matches in INDIA so PAK will be winning all matches , be happy man let u r team win a series in WI at least this time as according to u, u r team is world beater .

Posted by syedahmed91 on (December 20, 2012, 5:14 GMT)

PCB needs to stop hallucinating and start reading the news more often Even poloio workers have become targets of these mysterious militants any team that visits would be a high target. No body is risking their lives to bring back cricket to Pakistan. Even Pakistani's at this point don't want cricket in Pakistan because we know how incompetent and corrupt our current government and bureaucrats are it doesn't take much time for a big event to turn to a national embarrassment. So please have mercy on Pakistanis and don't tour Pakistan let these people suffer so they can get a little taste of what a common man in Pakistan is feeling and going through everyday.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 5:07 GMT)

I am a die hard fan of Pakistan cricket, but for the sake of all players and there security I don't think touring pakistan is safe for any nation, let alone India.I also beleive PCB should concentrate more on having a bilateral series with India in UAE.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 5:02 GMT)

I Sincerely believe that PCB is dreaming.Sorry- Indian governmet shouldn't allow it for sure. Iam sorry for pakistani brothers who are betrayed of cricket due to unforeseen circumstances in their country.

Posted by Drop_Thunder on (December 20, 2012, 4:41 GMT)

What else do you expect from PCB?? First they try to leverage on the BPL bait to lure BD to tour PAK. Now they are so sure that IND will tour PAK that they already decided to curtail the WI tour. lol. I can only be compassionate to PAK fans. For me two things are for sure, IND is not going to PAK and PAK cricket going nowhere with these kinds of ill-thought-out decisions.

Now, thats interesting news !!! India touring Pakistan... i cannot belive that BCCI can suddenly become so kind... strange

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 4:27 GMT)

Is PCB serious? With this government, even the citizens of Pakistan are not safe. BD, SL and Indian brothers should wait till we have a proper government and then think about visiting us.

Posted by   on (December 20, 2012, 4:21 GMT)

@ srinideva - we are expectng positive attitude from our Indian brothers to revive International cricket again in Pakistan,

Posted by srinideva on (December 20, 2012, 2:07 GMT)

@getsetgopk, oh what a poor kid. It doesn't matter india lost to england or something...we always win against pak. By the way india never ever ever ever tour pak.

Posted by mtalhas on (December 20, 2012, 1:21 GMT)

ok fine we see that there are reports which are enough to defame pakistan's situation and upto some extent they are justified as well due to whats actually happening. but this happens everywhere, just that media acts more maturely in other nations. there are various liberation and freedom movements going on in india itself. such is intensity that in some parts people dont know how to speak hindi, out of hatred and due to attitude of the administrators. what if those freedom fighters or rebels attack the stadium or what if shiv sena activists attack the pitch again? life comes first before sport but people should act maturely.

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 16:37 GMT)

Harmony111, On SL attack, they were with no security, because there was new election of Punjab Minister and he designed a new police system for which the Pak Police, in protest declared a holiday, and the ATTACK DAY was the holiday. (Certainly, no security for SL team then) Pakistan is a safe place for CRICKET. For evidence, the tour of WORLD XI and Bangladesh tour in january too). Please support and help Pakistan. Sinhaya, Thank you, Pakistan was also the first team to visit Sri lanka after the civil war in SL.

Posted by getsetgopk on (December 19, 2012, 16:26 GMT)

Why should we play india at all. Whats the point when the competitor is reluctant, this is a sport and should be treated as such. If India dont want to play, they better mend their ways and whats the point in beating a dead dog anyways, haven't they lost enough already? Let them play Bangalis and hog some fun, that will also help the India fans get back to their senses after the Eng nightmare! In fact both IND and BD are quite a match at this stage, games will be highly competitive and both are habitual losers so wont matter to anyone if either side loses. Full tour of WI please.

Posted by Harmony111 on (December 19, 2012, 15:55 GMT)

@Dear Pak fans: Friends, I am all for Pak cricket flourishing and want other nations including Ind to visit Pak and play the game there. I do envy some of your players who in spite of being severely hampered by so little cricket have done so well. But as of now the fact is that the situation in Pakistan "seems to be" very very bad and it may be so in reality too. 2 days back the Peshawar airport was attacked by rockets. We all know about the Karachi naval airbase attack. And there are numerous other attacks/bomb explosions where ppl routinely are killed. And then there was that case of SL Team's attack when they were supposedly given presidential level attack. My point is, the other incidents might have been set aside but the attack on SL team just can't be. It showed that the enemies will not spare even sports persons. Tell me, does anyone in Pak even know who the enemy is and who is doing all these attacks? I guess no, how can other teams go to Pak then? We all wud love to but can't.

Posted by Sinhaya on (December 19, 2012, 15:05 GMT)

At all Pakistani fans, I hope Sri Lanka will tour Pakistan this time next year as per the ICC FTP. I am keen to see you guys get some much needed cricket in your soil.

Posted by itsmeks1 on (December 19, 2012, 14:33 GMT)

India would never tour pakistan. pakistan need to understand this ASAP. and focus on his cricket without India...

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 13:37 GMT)

the current stat of the country is perfectly fine @prats_p . its only karachi that is hazardous

Posted by OptimusPrimal on (December 19, 2012, 13:26 GMT)

I highly doubt that India will tour Pakistan in the near future. Above all, Pakistan should not be asking for other teams, even Bangladesh, to come and play due to the country's massive security issues. These events will only be additional burden on an already over-stretched security apparatus.

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 13:23 GMT)

What a rubbish thinking by PCB. there is no chance of India touring Pakistan.even at the cost of their test status.they are just trying to make Pakistan a fool. Pakistan may lose WI series in the process my suggestion is Go ahead with a full tour of the Windies and forget about, trying to lure Ind to play in Pakistan

Posted by Prats6 on (December 19, 2012, 13:07 GMT)

PCB should be seriously out of their mind if they feel India 'can' tour Pak, there is no chance of that happening with the current state of the country. They can also forget about India playing them in UAE as a govt. directive bars Indian Cricket team playing in any non cricketing country. If PCB host India in Eng/SA, then it can still be on, but Pakistan NO WAY.

Posted by SMALI_RWP on (December 19, 2012, 13:07 GMT)

I refer to the comments made by MH BUTT. It is not question of being apologetic the facts I mentioned are highly significant in particular the result in the ICC cups. I do not agree that the bilaterial series does not have any bearing. On the contrary the synergy level the team carries on past results does have some bearing on the players. To just igonre it outright saying the ICC cup and test series have no correlation is like saying the two events are mutually excullisve and not connected. With due apology one must not lose sight of the fact the matches are played by human beings and not by robots. Thats why I say the ICC cup result has some bearing till such time Pakistan beat India in some high profile tournaments such the World cup. Good day sir.

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 12:51 GMT)

there's no way india will play Pakistan at neutral venues.if the pcb is seriously considering splitting the tour to the caribbean, they must have received some sort of assurance from their indian counterparts regarding india's tour to Pakistan.the bcci has explicitly communicated to the pcb that an indo-Pak series will either be held in india or Pakistan.

Posted by hamza1982 on (December 19, 2012, 12:46 GMT)

@ RightArmEverywhere...Totally agree with you. The tour to the WI is a big thing, why are we playing just 2 Tests? If its a timing thing, scrap the ODI series and play 3 tests and 3-5 T20s....Pakistan and WI are the bedrock of talent in cricket, they need to value each other and neither should ever play a 1-2 test series against anyone. EVER!

Posted by LahoriLion009 on (December 19, 2012, 12:34 GMT)

Credit should be given to PCB's Chairman for efforts to resume international cricket in pakistan and i think asian team (India, bangladesh) should help pak to bring cricket back in pak soil

Posted by RightArmEverywhere on (December 19, 2012, 12:21 GMT)

PCB should look to ensure a 3 Test series with WI rather than the lame 2 tests reserved Tier 2 teams. How often have you seen the top 8 teams playing 2 test series against each other. Its only Pakistan which is continuously dragged into 2 test series. The fact that Pakistan has never won a series in West Indies after coming so close in the past decade should be enough to force the PCB to think! Getting cricket back into its backyard via India is a futile effort! The common thinking amongst PCB officials is that their personal contacts within BCCI officials will do the trick to bring home a India series, and BCCI officials respond in the same reassuring manner that its the govt not them, which is all one big hoax. BCCI knows PCB is starved of cash and a series with India brings it much needed cash flow. The best way to kill Pakistan cricket and keep it pinned down is void them of the one thing that is air to cricket and that's money. Start using your wits PCB.

Posted by Stark62 on (December 19, 2012, 12:08 GMT)

What the heck is wrong with this stupid PCB?!?!

Go ahead with a full tour of the Windies and forget about, trying to lure Ind to play in Pak because it's a waste of time and will most likely end up playing in the UAE.

But if this does go ahead, then Tests must be a priority and you can add one or two T20's.

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 12:04 GMT)

It is silly for the WICB to plan Test Cricket in the rainy season. West Indies cricket should be played from March till end of May.

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 12:03 GMT)

@cricketIndia 208 .............. Pakistan definitely has a bad record against India in the world cups but what we are talking about here is a bilateral series where Pakistan leads India by a margin. Regarding your remark about the last three years, How many matches have we played against each other in the last three years? Get a life mate, enjoy cricket and stop being so apologetic for what looks like a dreadful series of events in Indian cricket at this moment................Who is going to lead India against us by the way? Seems like we have a way better test side at this moment.........let judge that..........

Posted by SMALI_RWP on (December 19, 2012, 11:47 GMT)

I think the matches bewteen the two sub continent rivals will be much fun and entertainment for the cricket loving fans. If was a punter I wouldn't pay much attention to the recent series between India and England even though the England team came out victor 2-1. But Indo-Pak series is a different ball game. No denying the fact that India has a massive lead against Pakistan in the ICC world cup matches despite Pakistan having in their bowling arsenal the likes of Imran, Waseem, Waqar, Shoaib. If I recall correctly Pakistan has won only once since their first encounter back in 1983!!!. I don't mean to put down Pakistan but the I go by the fact and the fact is Pakistan has come a grand 2nd in the contest. Critics may point out that I've ignored the fact that Pakistan gave India a real drubbing in Sharjah, however, I hestiate to take that result seriously as it was played more in the spirit of charity to benefit the former cricketers. Good luck to cricket and look luck to fans all around.

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 11:35 GMT)

i am not very much optimistic in this regard of india touring pak,but PCB doesn't disturb series with other countries by just hoping india will visit pak...

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 11:22 GMT)

it's good to hear that pcb chairman is taking a lot of steps to bring back international cricket in pakistan well i think that as pakistani citizen i m also living here the conditions are not too bad as the outsiders are thinking u should come to pakistan and see the conditions by urself then take any further step...

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 11:19 GMT)

@cricindia208 so u mean India is better than Pakistan? didnt u see India got beaten up by not so good players of spin in ur backyard? Pak beat them 3-0. but India lost 10 of their last 12 test matches. I dont remember any point in Pak crickets history where Pak team lost 10 of the 12 test matches. and still u think India is a good team? Actually India is a laughing stock in cricket world nowadays.

@Ed Khan Pak is one of the most successful teams of the last couple of years in Test cricket and Pak beat Eng 3-0 in UAE and what did India do in Eng, Aus and in India against Eng? I wont say anything else, instead I leave it on u to decide who is the laughing stock in the world of cricket at the moment.

Posted by BADDUS on (December 19, 2012, 11:12 GMT)

Why on earth would we even tour pakistan? who in the right sense of mind would allow such a tour in india!

India wont tour Pakistan...............the PCB are a bunch of jokers who are making Pakistan cricket a laughing stock in this world.

Posted by Narbavi on (December 19, 2012, 10:36 GMT)

If its held in UAE then its fine, but if the PCB think they can somehow make india play in pakistan then i can tell for sure that it will be only a dream!!

Posted by CricIndia208 on (December 19, 2012, 10:31 GMT)

Pakistan is a weak team, not good enough for India. They have not defeated us in any format in over three years. And the less said about their World Cup record against us, the better.

Posted by UK_Chap on (December 19, 2012, 10:22 GMT)

Why are the PCB so spineless, they bend over backwards and destroy any good relations they have with other boards to accommodate India. I like every other Pakistan fan would love to see Pakistan play India, but not at the expense of degrading or reducing other tours / countries. Why are there only two tests organized between Pakistan and West Indies. No wonder Pakistan has never won a series there, If you lose the first test match, you have little or no chance of coming back. I say this to you PCB, wake up and get your act together. I feel the reality and truth is that this is not about cricket, this is all about money and greed. The cricket is just incidental and a vehicle to facilitate their personal goals rather than the betterment of the nation or sport.

Posted by Shazli on (December 19, 2012, 10:07 GMT)

well... i think PCB should confirm BCCI either they would send team india to Pakistan or not...otherwise PCB organize another T20 domestic tournament to engage Pakistani team... Furthermore BCCI would really don't want to come Pakistan that y they want WI board to held tri series... as we seen in the past.

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 10:06 GMT)

@ naeemhussain - Ind have toured Pak so many times. (Safest place or not - Doesn't matter). So what exactly is your point ?

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 10:05 GMT)

Its about time we stop playing 2 test match series. 2 test match series is a joke.nd about india? We shudnt spoil our team, s commitments to host or visit india. We shud play cricket where ever its sheduled for us nd try to climb rankings grdually. Top cricketing nations will ask us to play once we are on top nd comercially beneficial. India will only play with us when we, ll have a weak team cuz they needs alot to catch up with overall loss win ratio against us.

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 10:03 GMT)

I still don't understand the urge of our board to play with INDIA...Like comeon, touring other countries or inviting other countries (in future) is equally important..

Posted by doosra_inventer on (December 19, 2012, 9:58 GMT)

India is a weak side now they wont agree to visit pakistan.

Posted by Zahidsaltin on (December 19, 2012, 9:46 GMT)

Posted by   on (December 19, 2012, 9:44 GMT)

Strange by PCB........ It could have been done in any other time not to spoil Carabian party And i am fed up of these two test series in WI.... Atleasy play 3 tests there ---- to get acommodate with conditions and atlast end the not wining test series draught in WI..

INDIA IS WELCOME ANY TIME, BUT not to spoil other test seriesss.
