George Joseph Harris, who has died at Briton Ferry aged 84 years, was a right-handed batsman and medium pace powler who played one game for Glamorgan as an amateur in 1932, being dismissed without scoring in his only innings. His job in the South Wales Police prevented his further appearances, though he did play soccer for Mansfield Town and Swansea Town. George Harris, whose brother was the well known Nottinghamshire professional, and character, the late Charlie Harris, was born in Underwood, Notts on November 22, 1904.
