Hi there. Pakistan have won the toss and chosen to bat. Iftikhar Anjum and Samiullah Khan are out and Kamran Hussain and Yassar Araft are the replacements.

0.2

Chigumbura to Salman Butt, no run, full and outside off and this time Butt lets it go through

0.3

Chigumbura to Salman Butt, no run, Further outside off and Butt has no problems in leaving it. He swirls the bat over his shoulder as a warm-up exercise and gets ready to face the next ball

0.4

Chigumbura to Salman Butt, no run, impressive start from the bowler. Again on the right line and the length, closer to the off stump and Butt is beaten again. Credit to him, though, he is pushing inside the line and not chasing the delivery

0.5

Chigumbura to Salman Butt, no run, back to the outside off line and left alone

0.6

Chigumbura to Salman Butt, no run, nice. On the middle and leg, Butt thinks about flicking it to leg side, the ball swings away and he checks his shot, pushes with a straight face and the ball runs away to the off side

Saad is angry, early in the morning: "Why have Pakistan not picked Sohail Khan? And why do they persist with Butt?"

3.2

Brent to Salman Butt, no run, some swing there. It starts early in the trajectory though and then seams away after landing on a length around off stump, Butt lets it go through to the 'keeper

5.3

5.4

Brent to Nasir Jamshed, no run, this one straightens a touch after landing on the middle and off stump and it runs off the inner half of the bat to the leg side

Brent to Nasir Jamshed, no run, after an listless first over he is hitting the right areas now. Another one swinging away and since it starts from around off stump, Butt shoulders arms

5.6

Brent to Nasir Jamshed, no run, another maiden over. Impressive start this. On that off stump line and all Nasir can do is to defend. Pakistan don't want to lose an early wicket and adopting a cautious approach. The ball is moving around a touch.

End of over 6 (maiden) Pakistan 8/0 (RR: 1.33)
Nasir Jamshed    5* (21b 1x4)      GB Brent    3-2-6-0

End of the last over, towels and gloves came out. Obviously with a message. Pakistan will attack now I reckon

8.2

Chigumbura to Nasir Jamshed, 2 runs, and there he goes. It was a full delivery, on the middle stump and Nasir tried to slog it over mid-on and the swing takes it over mid-off. Safe, though.

8.3

Chigumbura to Nasir Jamshed, 1 run, on the off stump line, run down to third man

8.4

Chigumbura to Salman Butt, no run, Butt takes a step forward, the bowler drags back the length cleverly and he turns to the leg side. Pakistan are hinting at attack now.

8.5

Chigumbura to Salman Butt, no run, a touch short in length, cutting across Butt who withdraws his bat from the line

8.6

Chigumbura to Salman Butt, no run, and again.

Neil Kruger is in a sarcastically funny mood: "Great start here it seems. We may restrict Pakistan to 350."

End of over 9 (4 runs) Pakistan 16/0 (RR: 1.77)
Salman Butt    6* (25b 1x4)      E Chigumbura    5-1-10-0

One slip and a short midwicket in place

9.1

Brent to Nasir Jamshed, 2 runs, angling away and Nasir tickles it to fine third man and will pick up couple of runs. The third man was standing wide

9.2

Brent to Nasir Jamshed, 1 run, run-out missed! It was a full delivery, around off stump, driven towards extra cover and the fielder fires in a throw at non-strikers ends but he misses it.

9.3

Brent to Salman Butt, 1 wide, huge appeal for a catch down leg side but a wide is called! OMG! There was a huge noise there. Pad atleast, definitely not a wide. Taibu flung himself to his right to take a spectacular 'catch' but a wide is called. The replays reveal it did hit the pad, not sure whether it got the bat before.

9.3

Brent to Salman Butt, 1 run, another risky run, pushed to point and they rush across for a quick single. Again, the throw is not accurate and the batsmen get home

12.1

Chigumbura to Nasir Jamshed, no run, on the off stump line and pushed to the off side

Muntaha Wali too is angry. " just cant understand the selectors. They have picked up Fawad Alam ever since Shoaib Malik's been the captain for every single tour, but he's only played in 2 ODIs. Why are they even selecting him when they don't want to play him."

12.2

14.1

Chigumbura to Salman Butt, no run, on the off stump, punched to covers

Kamer from Norway has a fiery response: "Tell Saad, Butt is Pakistan's only opener which has established himself as a worthy opener the last years. Two bad games (one where he was sold down the river the first time for the runout),and typical Pakistani fans want to hang him like he was Jack the Ripper. Grow up. Look at his stats."

14.2

Chigumbura to Salman Butt, OUT, And what a time to post that comment?! Butt is gone, flashing to backward point. It was a length delivery, outside off stump and Butt tried to make his own length and went for a slash but it flew straight to the fielder. Zimbabwe have broken through.

16.5

Chigumbura to Nasir Jamshed, FOUR, dropped at long-on by Mupariwa. Nasir heaved a full delivery towards Mupariwa who backpedalled a short distance but couldn't hold on to the catch. Why was he standing inside the line in the first place? Hmm?

The Pakistan captain is gone. He was late in getting back too; almost as if he didn't expect the throw to come in at his end.
