Pakistan Television, Khan Research complete wins

Khan Research Laboratories romped to a nine-wicket win over Lahore Ravi at the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground. Led by fast bowler Rahat Ali, who took 4 for 40, KRL ran through the hosts, taking eight wickets for 109 runs, to leave themselves just 46 to win. Abid Ali and Asif Yousuf were the only batsmen to resist KRL, with Ali making 68 and Yousuf 48, but no one else managed more than 27. The visitors lost Saeed Anwar Jr for 7, but the result was never in doubt once they had bowled Lahore out for 75 in their first innings. The result takes KRL to the top of the points table.

Bottom team Quetta remained winless, going down to Pakistan Television by nine wickets at the Khan Research Laboratory Ground in Rawalpindi. Mohammad Aslam and Atr-ur-Rehman both made half-centuries, and added 86 for the fifth wicket, but it was never going to be enough after Quetta conceded a first innings lead of over 200. Aslam was eventually trapped in front for 65 by left-arm spinner Yasim Murtaza for, who also picked up Rehman, caught and bowled for 54. PT then raced to their target in 6.4 overs, with Raheel Majeed slamming 34 from 23 balls, with six fours.

Wajid Ali's unbeaten century helped Abbottabad set Hyderabad 344 to win at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium. Wajid was in inspired form, scoring at quicker than a run-a-ball, as the lower and middle orders gave way around him. Abbottabad lost their last 6 wickets for 34 runs, but they lasted just long enough for Wajid to make 104 from 101 balls, with seven fours. Khashif Perez was the best of the bowlers, finishing with 4 for 103 from 25 overs. Hyderabad, who are third from bottom in the points table, made a strong start to their chase, reaching 70 for no loss after 18 overs.

Opener Hamza Paracha made a century and Usman Salahuddin just missed out on one, but a late collapse by Lahore Shalimar handed the edge to State Bank of Pakistan in the quest for a first-innings lead at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Paracha and Salahuddin had added 138 for the third wicket when Bilawal Bhatti bowled the former for a well-made 118. Legspinner Kashif Siddiq then got in to the act, taking three of the next five wickets, including Salahuddin's for 97, as Lahore Shalimar went from 285 for 2 to 335 for 8, before ending the day on 350, still trailing by 203 runs.

Peshawar eked out a one-run first-innings lead over Karachi Whites at the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar. Rameez Aziz made 94 before falling to Afaq Ahamed and Javed Mansoor made 42 down the order, but Riaz Afridi had Azam Hussein caught for 15 to leave Karachi agonisingly short in their chase for points in a game that is likely headed for a draw. Mohammad Fayyaz and Israrullah then added 101 before Israrullah fell for 43, while Fayyaz remained unbeaten on 63 in Peshawar's total of 136 for 1.
