Karachi Whites face uphill task to save game
Karachi Whites showed some fight at the National Bank of Pakistan Sports Complex in Karachi, hustling out Khan Research Laboratories for 502 after the Division Two leaders began the day on 449 for 5, before reaching 158 for 3 in their second innings, but face an uphill task of saving the game as they still trail by 244 runs. KRL lost three quick wickets for the addition of only 10 runs, with Sohail Khan dismissing both overnight batsmen, but Zulfiqar Jan went on the attack, making 40 from 47 balls, to nudge his team over 500. The Karachi Whites openers began steadily, adding 57 before Shahzaib Hussain was trapped lbw by Shakeel-ur-Rehman for 38. Rehman then accounted for the other opener as well, getting Khalid Latif, who had made 28, to edge one to the keeper. Wajihuddin continued the trend of batsmen getting starts but failing to go on, making 37 before succumbing to Yasir Arafat. At stumps, Asif Zakir was unbeaten on 32, having faced exactly 100 balls, with Rameez Aziz on 17 for company.
