Dogra gives Himachal lead over Andhra

Himachal Pradesh went into the lead against Andhra in Vijayawada, riding on Paras Dogra's century. Dogra and Varun Sharma shrugged off the loss of three wickets with a 132-run partnership before Dogra fell leg-before to Paidikalva Vijaykumar for 106. Dogra scored at a healthy pace, hitting 15 boundaries off 165 deliveries. Varun remained unbeaten on a patient 69 and took Himachal past Andhra's total of 265 in the company of his captain Ajay Ratra who was on 27. Vikramjeet Malik had earlier got T Atchuti Rao caught behind for 49, his fifth wicket of the innings, to end the Andhra innings on 265.

Hyderabad took control against Assam with a solid batting performance that took them to 175 for 1 in reply to the hosts' 227 in Guwahati. Akshath Reddy and Ravi Teja set the stage with a century opening stand before Teja departed for 48. Reddy carried on in the company of T Suman and was unbeaten on 82 with Suman on 37. Sibsankar Roy's 80 had earlier taken Assam to 227 after they started the day on 131 for 5. Anwar Ahmed bowled Roy for his fourth wicket while Lalith Mohan alsoe ended with four strikes.

Jammu & Kashmir captain Hardeep Singh's century could not get his side past Goa's 281 as they finished 21 short in Jammu. Hardeep had led a recovery from 82 for 5 and was the last man to be dismissed for 109 but his team-mates could not support him for long. Adil Rishi's 40 was the only other innings of some substance as J&K were dismissed for 260. Amit Yadav finished with 4 for 54. Having taken a narrow lead, Goa breezed to 71 for 1 with Sher Yadav not out on 43.

Kerala consolidated their strong position after having bowled Tripura out for 139 on the first day, reaching 223 for 5 in Kochi. Abhishek Hegde (40) and VA Jagadeesh (57) set Kerala on their way with a 105-run stand upfront before former Karnataka offspinner Udit Patel bowled Jagadeesh. Udit struck thrice more but the other bowlers could not break through. Sachin Baby took Kerala past 200 with an unbeaten fifty and they ended the day on a lead of 84.

Jharkhand were in trouble against Maharashtra in Nasik, losing even wickets for 195 in pursuit of the hosts' 460. Jharkhand began well with an opening stand of 61 but Shrikant Mundhe picked up three wickets, including that of captain Saurabh Tiwary for 42 and opener Rameez Nemat for 79. Ishank Jaggi went cheaply to Samad Fallah as Jharkhand continued to lose wickets. Maharashtra had earlier lost their last six batsmen for 57 runs after having been 403 for 4 at one stage. Left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem picked up 4 for 94 while wicketkeeper Shiv Gautam had seven dismissals.

Vidarbha continued their grind on the second day in Delhi, reaching 508 for 6 in 180 overs against Services. Aniruddha Chore and Shiv Sunder Das could not add much to their overnight scores, but Ranjit Paradkar chipped in with 54. Vidarbha captain and veteran legspinner Sairaj Bahutule contributed an unbeaten 80 with seven fours. Services used eight bowlers but had to depend on a run out for their sixth wicket.
