Profile

Gamage was surprise replacement for Chaminda Vaas during the 2003 Sharjah Cup, leapfrogging other, better-known pace bowlers. However, the tall right-arm fast bowler, who bowls with a high action and good pace, has been a consistent performer in the domestic scene since making his first-class debut seven years ago, first playing for the Sinhalese Sports Club and now Bloomfield Sports and Athletic Club. Predominantly moves the ball off the seam.
