Shaun Williams was a left-hand opening batsman who bowled right-arm offspin with a formidable record in Darwin A-grade cricket where he scored 3110 runs at 46.42 and took 123 wickets at 16.15. He also played for Victoria 2nd XI and Northern Territories. He went to Bangladesh as game development manager before playing a key role as coach of the successful under-19 team and then the A team. In June 2007, following the resignation of Dav Whatmore, he was appointed as coach to the national team when they toured Sri Lanka. He went on to assist fellow Australian Jamie Siddons when he took over as coach in September the same year. In the 2009-10 season, he took over as coach of the Maharashtra Ranji Trophy team.
