Jack Howard, who died in Leicester on September 17, 1998 (the death was only lately ascertained) aged 80 was a left-handed batsman and useful wicketkeeper who played 41 times for Leicestershire between 1946 and 1948, scoring 589 runs at an average of 11.32. His father Arthur played for Leicestershire in 1921 while brother Alan Raymond appeared for Glamorgan from 1928 to 1933.
