England tour of South Africa, 2nd T20I: South Africa v England at Centurion, Nov 15, 2009
South Africa won by 84 runs
15 November 2009 (20-over match)

Players on their way out with some dark clouds in the distance...not a full house yet as Smith and Bosman head to the middle. James Anderson with the first over...hold on, here we go

2.25pm Five minutes away from the start...Graeme Smith and Loots Bosman will be looking to give South Africa a similar start to the Wanderers.

2.20pm The pitch report suggests it could be a slightly slow surface with not too much bounce, so we might be in for a score around 160-170 instead of the 200 we saw two days ago at the Wanderers.

2.15pm OK, so much for my earlier positive news on the weather. A colleague at the ground has just said a nasty thunderstorm is heading the way of Centurion. And, as we saw the other night, when it rains in the highveld it's not often a light shower. Fingers crossed it misses the ground.

2.00pm Time for the toss...South Africa have won it and will bat first. Looking to put runs on the board. Smith confirms that Kallis is back, wicketkeeper Heino Kuhn makes his debut and Yusuf Abdulla gets a game.

Alastair Cook, the new captain, isn't too concerned about losing the toss and confirms two changes for England. Pietersen in for Collingwood and Adil Rashid replaces the injured Graeme Swann.

South Africa 1 Graeme Smith, 2 Loots Bosman, 3 Jacques Kallis, 4 AB de Villiers, 5 JP Duminy, 6 Albie Morkel, 7 Ryan McLaren, 8 Heino Kuhn (wk), 9 Roelof van der Merwe, 10 Dale Steyn, 11 Yusuf Abdulla

England 1 Joe Denly, 2 Alastair Cook (capt), 3 Kevin Pietersen, 4 Jonathan Trott, 5 Eoin Morgan, 6 Matt Prior (wk), 7 Luke Wright, 8 Tim Bresnan, 9 Adil Rashid, 10 Sajid Mahmood, 11 James Anderson

1.50pm Big team news from England. Kevin Pietersen has been named in the side, so the injury problems have forced them to advance his return from injury by a couple of days. He wasn't due to appear until Tuesday against South Africa A, but England are short on batsmen today.

This will be Pietersen's first match since the second Ashes Test in July and adds another intriguing element to today's game

1.45pm Hello everyone and welcome to coverage of the second Twenty20 between South Africa and England at Centurion Park. I'm Andrew McGlashan and will be bringing you all the action over the next few hours.

First, though, I have some team news for you. England have a new captain in Alastair Cook after Paul Collingwood was ruled out with a back injury. No word yet on the final XI - there are a few other niggles in the camp - but that isn't the ideal start for England.

We also know that Jacques Kallis will return for South Africa and I'll bring you both final XIs as soon as I hear them.

The other news - and this is the good bit - is that the weather looks fine down in South Africa and hopefully we will avoid any thunderstorms today. Stay tuned for all the news.

In the meantime, why not take a look at our fabulous new game, Cricinfo Predictor, where you can challenge your mates and, as the name suggests, predicting the result.

Anderson to Smith, no run, nice start outside off stump, Smith gives himself the luxury of a leave...decent carry through to Prior

Anderson to Smith, no run, slightly fuller and a firm drive from Smith picks out mid off

Anderson to Smith, 1 wide, too wide this time and that's the first run of the day

There were some doubts about Anderson leading into this game, but he as pulled up okay

Anderson to Smith, 1 run, driven firmly into the off side, not timed by Smith but far enough to the right of Pietersen at mid off to get a single

Anderson to Bosman, no run, outside off and Bosman also starts his innings with a leave alone

Anderson to Bosman, no run, on off stump, defended towards mid on...tight line from Anderson

Anderson to Bosman, no run, first bouncer of the day, Bosman thinks of having a hook but pulls out as the ball loops over his shoulder

Good start from Anderson as the openers feel their way into the game

End of over 1 (2 runs) South Africa 2/0 (RR: 2.00)

    • LE Bosman 0 (3b)
    • GC Smith 1 (3b)
    • JM Anderson 1-0-2-0

Tim Bresnan will share the new ball

Bresnan to Smith, FOUR, dragged down short first up and Smith latches onto a pull which sends the ball whistling through square leg for the first boundary

Bresnan to Smith, no run, better line from Bresnan, tucks Smith up on middle stump and the captain takes it on the body

Slip has been moved to square leg...the captain himself, Cook, into that position

Bresnan to Smith, 1 run, another short ball which Smith hooks down towards fine leg, Bresnan got away with that

Bosman pulls out at the last second...not quite ready. Slip back in

Bresnan to Bosman, no run, flash and a miss outside off as he goes for a powerful cut, good bouncer off a length took that over the top edge

Bresnan to Bosman, no run, taken on the pad as he aims through the leg side, appeal from Bresnan but that was never out...heading miles over the stumps

Bresnan to Bosman, 1 run, worked into the leg side in front of mid on...Bresnan came back well after that early boundary

End of over 2 (6 runs) South Africa 8/0 (RR: 4.00)

    • LE Bosman 1 (6b)
    • GC Smith 6 (6b 1x4)
    • TT Bresnan 1-0-6-0
    • JM Anderson 1-0-2-0

Anderson to Bosman, FOUR, first piece of aggression from Bosman, picks this up from a good length and whips it over square leg

Anderson to Bosman, no run, much fuller and outside off, powerful drive towards mid off but not timed

Anderson to Bosman, 1 run, pulled through square leg again as Anderson gets a little too straight

Anderson to Smith, no run, backs away to the leg side very early and pulls strongly but straight to midwicket...Smith was on the move before Anderson was up to the crease

Anderson to Smith, 1 run, more shuffling in his stance from Smith, drives powerfully but again straight to the fielder at mid off...just not finding the gaps

Anderson to Bosman, no run, misses out on a pull and is taken on the body

Not a real flier here from South Africa, England have bowled pretty well so far

End of over 3 (6 runs) South Africa 14/0 (RR: 4.66)

    • LE Bosman 6 (10b 1x4)
    • GC Smith 7 (8b 1x4)
    • JM Anderson 2-0-8-0
    • TT Bresnan 1-0-6-0

Early change of bowling, Sajid Mahmood replaces Bresnan after one over

Mahmood to Smith, FOUR, a good length ball is swung over midwicket...quite an ugly shot, but perfectly effective in this format

KP offering some advice to captain and bowler...no doubt he's loving being back in the side

Mahmood to Smith, FOUR, width outside off this time and flayed dismissively through the covers...that one came out of the middle

Tough start for Mahmood

Mahmood to Smith, (no ball) FOUR, three in a row, and it's a no-ball to boot, as Smith gets right underneath this one and sends it miles into the air. The ball lands just in front of the deep midwicket rope

13 off two balls...nice, Saj

So it's free hit time

Mahmood to Smith, no run, bowled him, he gets it straight and Smith misses a wild swing across the line but he had the freedom to do as he pleased. A few people got very excited by that

Mahmood to Smith, no run, full on off stump, driven square on the off side and well fielded at backward point

Mahmood to Smith, 1 run, low full toss, a slower ball, which is dug out down to mid off

Alastair Cook is captain today, but everyone is having their say out there..."too many Cooks spoil the broth etc."

Mahmood to Bosman, 1 no ball, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear...another no-ball from Mahmood and it's drilled straight to mid off. The fielders start to celebrate before seeing the umpire's arm

Another free hit

Mahmood to Bosman, SIX, and this one goes all the way over midwicket...dropped in short and Bosman latches.

A shocking over from Mahmood which costs 21. Might be a short spell today

End of over 4 (21 runs) South Africa 35/0 (RR: 8.75)

    • LE Bosman 12 (12b 1x4 1x6)
    • GC Smith 20 (14b 4x4)
    • SI Mahmood 1-0-21-0
    • JM Anderson 2-0-8-0

Change of ends for Tim Bresnan

Bresnan to Smith, no run, wrong line on leg stump but he gets away with it as Smith picks out square leg

Bresnan to Smith, FOUR, very full outside off, Smith does well to drive it square through backward point with enough power to beat the deep sweeper

Bresnan to Smith, FOUR, thumped straight down the ground this time, closes the face as he drives and there's no chance for mid off

More advice coming from all corners

Bresnan to Smith, 1 run, he's finding the middle regularly now, but this time it goes almost straight to deep cover

Welcome to captaincy, Alastair Cook

Bresnan to Bosman, SIX, one of Bosman's favourite strokes, picked up over deep square-leg (where Wright makes a great attempt to catch it) but the bowler pays for being too short again

South Africa's fifty is up in the fifth over and that after a watchful start

Bresnan to Bosman, 1 run, goes full on the stumps and it's dug out through square leg

End of over 5 (16 runs) South Africa 51/0 (RR: 10.20)

    • LE Bosman 19 (14b 1x4 2x6)
    • GC Smith 29 (18b 6x4)
    • TT Bresnan 2-0-22-0
    • SI Mahmood 1-0-21-0

Surprise, surprise, Mahmood's spell lasted one over...now it's Luke Wright's turn. Good luck.

Wright to Bosman, SIX, guess what? It's short. Guess what? It gets dispatched miles over the deep midwicket boundary. England's bowlers not learning

Wright to Bosman, 1 run, better, at least it's full at the stumps, swung to midwicket for a scampered single

Wright to Smith, SIX, jeepers, there's six more. A horrible full toss which Smith heaves mightily over mid on...England have lost control

Wright to Smith, FOUR, would you believe it, third man comes up and Smith gets an outside edge past the keeper down to the boundary

The ball is flying everywhere and England need 15 fielders

Wright to Smith, 1 run, dropped by Wright in his follow through, Smith drives and it flies back at the bowler who can't cling on...it nearly took Wright's head off

Wright to Bosman, no run, finally a good yorker which Bosman can't get further than the bowler

Right, Cook can now spread the field a bit more after the Powerplay. 55 off the last three overs

End of over 6 (18 runs) South Africa 69/0 (RR: 11.50)

    • LE Bosman 26 (17b 1x4 3x6)
    • GC Smith 40 (21b 7x4 1x6)
    • LJ Wright 1-0-18-0
    • TT Bresnan 2-0-22-0

Well, here's a gamble, Saj is back. Best have the box of spare balls handy

Mahmood to Smith, 1 run, dropped square on the off side, it's a single which counts as a success for England

Mahmood to Bosman, 1 run, heaved off the inside edge down to fine leg

Smith changes his bat...clearly the old one wasn't sending the ball far enough

Mahmood to Smith, 1 run, straight full toss, worked through square leg

Just a sense of accumulation now from these two...probably won't last long

Mahmood to Bosman, no run, slower-ball bouncer, a brave attempt from Mahmood, and the lack of pace does for Bosman who is through his shot far too early

Mahmood to Bosman, FOUR, crunching straight drive over mid off who is inside the circle, one bounce over the boundary

Fine leg up, mid off back

Mahmood to Bosman, SIX, wow, that's huge, he picks up a good length ball from outside off and sends it miles over midwicket towards the electronic scoreboard

End of over 7 (13 runs) South Africa 82/0 (RR: 11.71)

    • LE Bosman 37 (21b 2x4 4x6)
    • GC Smith 42 (23b 7x4 1x6)
    • SI Mahmood 2-0-34-0
    • LJ Wright 1-0-18-0

Well, this is a nice time for Adil Rashid to come into the attack

Rashid to Smith, SIX, flat six, take that, slog-sweep goes skimming above the outfield straight into the boundary hoardings

Rashid to Smith, SIX, that's bigger, that's harder, and it's over midwicket again...Smith reaches fifty from 25 balls. A cracking innings, he's flying

Rashid to Smith, no run, quicker ball outside off, Smith misses his attempted dab and Prior whips off the bails. Third umpire takes a look but Smith did well to keep his foot behind the line

Rashid to Smith, 1 run, short outside off, cut away to deep cover

Rashid to Bosman, SIX, long hop, rubbish ball, and the wagon wheel gets another line towards midwicket and that's three maximums in the cover

Rashid to Bosman, SIX, make that four in the over, this one's gone straight over long on and it's hard to know what else to say

Rashid goes for 25 off his first over...Anyone for captaincy, Alastair? Tremendous striking from Smith and Bosman, but the bowling has been pretty awful. An incredible scoring rate even for this format

End of over 8 (25 runs) South Africa 107/0 (RR: 13.37)

    • LE Bosman 49 (23b 2x4 6x6)
    • GC Smith 55 (27b 7x4 3x6)
    • AU Rashid 1-0-25-0
    • SI Mahmood 2-0-34-0

Wright's back

Wright to Smith, no run, what a victory, it's a dot ball as Smith drives and misses outside off

Wright to Smith, 1 run, heaved down to long leg

Wright to Bosman, 1 leg bye, big appeal from Wright, Bosman gets taken on the boot by a full ball and it certainly looked close...maybe drifting down leg

Wright to Smith, FOUR, another edge to third man, expansive drive from Smith and eludes the out-stretched Matt Prior

Wright to Smith, 1 run, driven straight out to deep cover

Wright to Bosman, 2 runs, driven neatly down to long off and good running brings him back for a second...that's his fifty from 25 balls, another cracking innings from him

End of over 9 (9 runs) South Africa 116/0 (RR: 12.88)

    • LE Bosman 51 (25b 2x4 6x6)
    • GC Smith 61 (31b 8x4 3x6)
    • LJ Wright 2-0-26-0
    • AU Rashid 1-0-25-0

Tim Bresnan gets another turn

Bresnan to Smith, SIX, good length, picked up of deep midwicket for another massive six (sorry if it all sounds a little repetitive!)

Bresnan to Smith, SIX, this one is longer and straighter over mid on...six number 11 of the innings and we aren't even halfway

Bresnan to Smith, no run, blimey, a dot ball

Bresnan to Smith, 1 run, driven down to long off all along the ground

Bresnan to Bosman, 1 run, backs away to the leg side and swings hard, doesn't come out of the middle and goes one bounce to long on

Bresnan to Smith, 1 run, full on leg stump, worked out to deep midwicket

So that's the halfway mark of the innings...South Africa on course to break some records here and Smith has plenty of time to make just the second international T20 hundred (Chris Gayle has the only one so far)

End of over 10 (15 runs) South Africa 131/0 (RR: 13.10)

    • GC Smith 75 (36b 8x4 5x6)
    • LE Bosman 52 (26b 2x4 6x6)
    • TT Bresnan 3-0-37-0
    • LJ Wright 2-0-26-0

Wright to Smith, 1 run, inside edge into his boot, nearly bowls him but it bobbles into the off side

Wright to Bosman, 1 run, bit of a shambles there...a decent yorker is dug out to cover who prevents a single, but then gives one away by hurling an overthrow past the stumps

Wright to Smith, 1 run, low full toss swung hard through the leg side, Morgan at deep square-leg scoots around to cut it off

Wright to Bosman, 2 runs, another low full, but at least he's trying to fire in the yorkers, and it's heaved along the ground through midwicket

Wright to Bosman, 2 runs, lofted straight down the ground but not out of the middle, Pietersen has time to run around from long off

I think Bosman wants a new bat...one of the reserves fetches a batch from the dressing room as everyone has a quick drink as well

Wright to Bosman, no run, swing and a miss outside off...a whole over without a boundary, England tighten the screw

That was actually well bowled by Wright, he consistently went for one area (full) so at least it was possible to set a field

End of over 11 (7 runs) South Africa 138/0 (RR: 12.54)

    • LE Bosman 57 (30b 2x4 6x6)
    • GC Smith 77 (38b 8x4 5x6)
    • LJ Wright 3-0-33-0
    • TT Bresnan 3-0-37-0

This should speed things up again...yep, Saj Mahmood is back

Mahmood to Smith, SIX, Mahmood is probably wishing he'd pulled a hamstring this morning, that's a thigh-high full toss which is dispatched high over midwicket

Mahmood to Smith, 2 runs, lofted through midwicket but the fielder can get to this one

This is a record stand for any country in Twenty20 internationals...and there's time for plenty more

Mahmood to Smith, 1 run, almost tries to hit this too hard and mistimes it through square leg

Mahmood to Bosman, 2 runs, pulled in the air out to deep midwicket, this is a good test for Pietersen's Achillies but he doesn't quite reach it...at least prevents a boundary

Mahmood to Bosman, FOUR, that one's a little tough on Mahmood, a pinpoint yorker and still Bosman squeezes it out down to third man

Mahmood to Bosman, FOUR, goes for a bouncer but fine leg is up and Bosman sends this one bounce down to the boundary

End of over 12 (19 runs) South Africa 157/0 (RR: 13.08)

    • LE Bosman 67 (33b 4x4 6x6)
    • GC Smith 86 (41b 8x4 6x6)
    • SI Mahmood 3-0-53-0
    • LJ Wright 3-0-33-0

Kevin Pietersen wasn't meant to play here, now he has to have a bowl

Pietersen to Smith, 1 run, full outside off, slapped down to long off

Pietersen to Bosman, SIX, effortless...as soon as Bosman hit that you knew it was out of the middle, he made it into a low full toss and connected magnificently over midwicket

Pietersen to Bosman, FOUR, this one finds the gap between long on and deep midwicket, not struck quite so well and he has to be content with four

Pietersen to Bosman, no run, fired in full and flat, driven hard back to the bowler who fields well

Pietersen to Bosman, 1 run, hoicks out to midwicket

Pietersen to Smith, 1 run, worked down to long on...13 off the over which actually brings the run rate down a fraction

End of over 13 (13 runs) South Africa 170/0 (RR: 13.07)

    • GC Smith 88 (43b 8x4 6x6)
    • LE Bosman 78 (37b 5x4 7x6)
    • KP Pietersen 1-0-13-0
    • SI Mahmood 3-0-53-0

Desperate times, desperate measures...here's Joe Denly (I believe he bowls legspin)

Denly to Smith, OUT, and he strikes with his first ball in international cricket as Smith picks out long on. Tried to go over his favourite area, but just got underneath it a little and finally a breakthrough

GC Smith c Mahmood b Denly 88 (66m 44b 8x4 6x6) SR: 200.00

It isn't all good news for England, though, as he comes Albie Morkel

Denly to Bosman, 1 run, almost swings himself off his feet clubbing this one into midwicket

Denly to Morkel, no run, has a look at his first ball, tucked into the leg side

Denly to Morkel, FOUR, short outside off, a freebie for Morkel who cuts it away backward of point

Denly to Morkel, no run, nicely bowler, slightly quicker and hurries Morkel a little as he pushes into the off side

Denly to Morkel, FOUR, normal service resumed, brings out the slog sweep and although the deep fielder didn't have far to move he didn't have a chance of cutting it off

End of over 14 (9 runs) South Africa 179/1 (RR: 12.78)

    • JA Morkel 8 (4b 2x4)
    • LE Bosman 79 (38b 5x4 7x6)
    • JL Denly 1-0-9-1
    • KP Pietersen 1-0-13-0

Pietersen to Bosman, SIX, rank full toss, add one more to the sixes count as Bosman puts it over the deep square-leg boundary

Pietersen to Bosman, 1 run, comes round the wicket, fire across Bosman outside off and he digs it square on the off side

Pietersen to Morkel, SIX, another full toss (I've lost count of how many) and I've nearly lost count of the sixes as well as this one goes gun-barrel straight towards the sight screen

That's a new record for the most sixes in a Twenty20 international

Pietersen to Morkel, OUT, what a catch...Bresnan at long on as pulled off an absolute blinder as Morkel doesn't quite get enough distance hitting into the wind. Bresnan timed his jump perfectly and plucked the ball

JA Morkel c Bresnan b Pietersen 14 (6m 6b 2x4 1x6) SR: 233.33

South Africa can just keep on swinging

Pietersen to Duminy, 2 byes, reverse sweep first ball, gets it fine through short third man

Pietersen to Duminy, 1 run, worked down to long on to end the over

England are well behind the over rate here...all the leather-chasing hasn't helped

End of over 15 (16 runs) South Africa 195/2 (RR: 13.00)

    • JP Duminy 1 (2b)
    • LE Bosman 86 (40b 5x4 8x6)
    • KP Pietersen 2-0-27-1
    • JL Denly 1-0-9-1

James Anderson back into the attack...so far his figures are outstanding, two overs for eight. That might change a little now

Anderson to Duminy, 1 run, driven firmly through the covers and long off runs around to field

A brave move from Matt Prior, he comes up to the stumps

Anderson to Bosman, SIX, huge! This one goes miles back over the the leg-side boundary, picked up the cutter from Anderson and connected with a free swing of the arms

Anderson to Bosman, no run, good comeback, excellent yorker which Bosman can't get away

Anderson to Bosman, 1 run, another prefect yorker, on off stump and squeezed into the off side

Anderson to Duminy, OUT, another high catch, this time to backward point as Duminy gets a thick outside edge trying to swing hard over the leg side

JP Duminy c Wright b Anderson 2 (6m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Time for someone else to have some fun...AB de Villiers

Anderson to Bosman, 1 run, full ball driven down to long off

Bosman is now six away from the second T20 international hundred...on today's form, that's one easy blow for him

End of over 16 (9 runs) South Africa 204/3 (RR: 12.75)

    • LE Bosman 94 (44b 5x4 9x6)
    • AB de Villiers 0 (0b)
    • JM Anderson 3-0-17-1
    • KP Pietersen 2-0-27-1

Luke Wright back with the ball...Prior up at the stumps

Wright to Bosman, OUT, oh, what a shame for Bosman, another full toss but this time he doesn't get hold of it...the bat turned in his hand and Anderson makes good ground at deep midwicket to hold a fine catch

LE Bosman c Anderson b Wright 94 (81m 45b 5x4 9x6) SR: 208.88

Bosman goes for a tremendous 94 off 45 balls...a breathtaking display of striking

Jacques Kallis finally gets his turn...neither batsman have faced

Wright to de Villiers, 1 run, pushed down to long on

Wright to Kallis, no run, another good yorker, driven straight to cover

Bosman's 94 is the fifth-highest T20 international score

Wright to Kallis, 1 run, driven down the ground to long off

Wright to de Villiers, 1 run, backs away to the leg side to give himself room and hammers the ball out to deep cover

Wright to Kallis, FOUR, thumping straight drive from Kallis, a low full toss that is rifled back past Wright's outstretched right hand

End of over 17 (7 runs) South Africa 211/4 (RR: 12.41)

    • JH Kallis 5 (3b 1x4)
    • AB de Villiers 2 (2b)
    • LJ Wright 4-0-40-1
    • JM Anderson 3-0-17-1

Sajid Mahmood back...for more punishment?

Mahmood to de Villiers, 1 run, goes full first up, all de Villiers can do is drive to long off

Mahmood to Kallis, 2 runs, a length ball is driven very correctly through the covers and de Villiers pushes Kallis to come back for two

Mahmood to Kallis, OUT, finally something for Mahmood to enjoy, takes out off stump as Kallis misses a heave across the line...he might have taken some pace off that

JH Kallis b Mahmood 7 (5m 5b 1x4 0x6) SR: 140.00

Here comes the debutant, Heino Kuhn

Mahmood to Kuhn, 1 run, and he's away straight away with a single to long on

Mahmood to de Villiers, FOUR, skews away off a thick outside, third man is up inside the circle so it bobbles away over the boundary...Mahmood paid for bowling length again

Mahmood to de Villiers, no run, ends with a dot ball, de Villiers plays over a wide yorker...so Mahmood avoids taking the most expensive T20 international figures

The record for worst figures remains 64 off four overs held by James Anderson and Sanath Jayasuriya

End of over 18 (8 runs) South Africa 219/5 (RR: 12.16)

    • AB de Villiers 7 (5b 1x4)
    • HG Kuhn 1 (1b)
    • SI Mahmood 4-0-61-1
    • LJ Wright 4-0-40-1

Bresnan back

Bresnan to Kuhn, 1 run, tries to sweep and gets a toe-end into the off side

Bresnan to de Villiers, 2 runs, well bowled, full on middle and it's dug down to long on...good running brings two

Bresnan to de Villiers, no run, goodness me, de Villiers was down to sweep before the ball was let go and he ends up missing his shot...a version of Dilshan's scoop

Bresnan to de Villiers, no run, well bowled, Bresnan saw de Villiers advancing and fired in a good bouncer

Bresnan to de Villiers, FOUR, flies off the outside edge and goes over short third man

Bresnan to de Villiers, FOUR, hammered down the ground, top shot, a clean swing through the line and it beats long off

This is the second-highest total in Twenty20 internationals

End of over 19 (11 runs) South Africa 230/5 (RR: 12.10)

    • AB de Villiers 17 (10b 3x4)
    • HG Kuhn 2 (2b)
    • TT Bresnan 4-0-48-0
    • SI Mahmood 4-0-61-1

Here comes the last over

Anderson to Kuhn, 1 run, driven hard down to long off

Anderson to de Villiers, SIX, my word, that's an extraordinary shot, a flat-batted pull to a slower ball which goes straight down the ground and into the sight screen...de Villiers just managed to hold back on his shot long enough

It's taking a few moments to find the ball

Anderson to de Villiers, no run, swing and a miss outside off

Anderson to de Villiers, 1 run, OUT, swung through square leg, de Villiers chances coming back for a second but doesn't get close...no harm in trying at this stage

AB de Villiers run out 24 (17m 13b 3x4 1x6) SR: 184.61

Anderson to McLaren, 1 run, down the leg side, Anderson gets away with it as McLaren finds fine leg

Anderson to Kuhn, 2 runs, low full toss heaved through midwicket, Kuhn races back for a second and with a dive makes it back

What a batting display that was from South Africa. Awesome striking from Smith and Bosman...19 fours and 17 sixes in total. Not a good day for the bowlers (Anderson can hold his head high) and England will have to be even better than they were with the bat at the Wanderers to get anywhere near this. Join me a few minutes for the run chase

End of over 20 (11 runs) South Africa 241/6
